A Revolutionary CD,

. . . for many American techno fans. While we have to hear mainstream techno and dance on our radios, Europe is overflowing with music that makes techno feel like slow jazz. Maniacally fast and heavy beats, ambient keyboards, catchy choruses, and plain-ol feel good, bounce-around cuts made this CD my first foray into Happy Hardcore . . . and the reason I hardly ever listen to anything on the radio.

Best CD,

This is by far the best cd I have bought. All of the songs on this cd have great fast pumping rhythms. One song that i particularly like is "wanting to get high" by Hixxy, the song has a great chorus in the back ground and is full of energy. If you like techno with fast breakbeat rhythms then i recommend that you by this cd.

The first in this style that I have ever owned.,
This review is from: Happy 2b Hardcore, Chapter 1 (Audio CD)
I originally purchased this CD in early 1997. I have been listening to techno for many years but this was the first of the verging 'Happy Hardcore' style that I had ever purchased. It was a blind buy, as I call them. I actually was intrigued buy the artwork. I was very pleased with what I heard inside. I am a Techno Junkie and I tend to be a little bit picky about what I like. Somtimes electronic music seems to boarder line on just being loud noise. This CD was nothing like that. This CD is as fast as some of the Hardcore Industrial Techno, without all the anger. It is very upbeat and non-violent. The only aspect that makes it hardcore is the speed of the beat. In some cases it is as fast as 140 BPM. (Beats per minute) It is continual mix with some real bass punching power. The best track on the CD has got to be #14) "Evolution - Let the Music." Before this CD I had never recognized Moonshine Music or DJ Anabolic Frolic as a 'must purchase.' I have now sought them both out and learned that they both have some amazing music to their credit. This is a must have if you like fast paced, happy, DJ mixed Techno. Definitely check it out.

I think that out of all the h2bh CD's, this is the best one. All of the songs are super hyper and will keep you bouncing till the batteries die. I don't think there are any bad songs on the CD. While lyrics are sparingly used the 170+BPM is enough to do anyone good, and I think it is true UK happy hardcore. I would recomend any of you to buy this CD, because it is some of the most infectious good time kandy punk times you'll ever have, ever.

the happy beats and vocals are hype. it gets you going. it makes you want to dance. as a raver for almost 7 years now, the happy hardcore genre has become my favorite. this is a great sample of it. you also will want to check out the world of sy & unknown, and the rest of the cds in this series. :P

I would say the worst of the series, a trainwreck in it too, why would someone put out an album with a trainwreck in it, I guess he couldnt do any better :P I DO like H2bh chapter 4 though, I would suggest that one! If you like hhc you will like this disk, but if you are an avid listener the lil mistakes will bug you too much to listen to it a lot.

45rpm at 78rpm,
This review is from: Happy 2b Hardcore, Chapter 1 (Audio CD)
I was looking for music to work out to. I've got some darude and some Oakenfold that gets into the 130-140 bpm range for me when I'm on the elliptical, so I was looking for something similar..
Wow. This is just... wow. Most of you are probably kids who don't remember record players, this "music" sounds like somebody took a 45 or a 33' and put it on 78rpm. The vocals are high pitched and screechy, there is little bass, and the beat while quick is not exactly driving. Maybe this is great for dancing around while hopped on goofballs, but it doesn't cut it for workout music. I'm glad I found it at a 2nd hand store for $5, it's going right back to the 2nd hand store. |
