Anabolic Frolic manages four wins in a row.,
This review is from: Happy 2b Hardcore 4 (Audio CD)
You can tell just by looking at the cover of this CD that is the fourth release the Happy2bHardcore series. I already owned the other three so I had high expectations. A little background first, this is the same DJ that mixed the first three. He is known under the Moonshine Music label as "Anabolic Frolic." He has released one Happy2bHardcore CD every year or so. For what I can tell, and I might be wrong about this, these are the only three CD's he has released. He is a rave and club DJ primarily. You can go to the Moonshine website to find out when and where he is spinning next. That's Moonshine.com in case you did not know. If you have never heard the `Happy Hardcore' sound before than you might not know what to expect. Don't let the title mislead you, it is not angry industrial style Techno that rants about death and war. It is quite the opposite. The `Hardcore' part is the speed of the beat. It averages about 140 beats per minute. Most of the song content is about love and dancing. They have a lot of vocals. That is the `Happy' part. Not much Techno is thrash music. The best tracks on this CD are #3) GBT Inc - Better Day; a perfect example of that love and dancing thing I was talking about, #5) Elevate - All That You See and Hear; the name is from a sample off the outer limits but the song is leaning toward `Hard Trance', and #9) Scott Brown - Elysium; a superb mixture of piano and bass. This CD did take a little time to grow on me. I had such high expectations that I did not respect the fact the music is forever changing. This CD is not exactly like the first. Music is progressive. Each CD takes you into a different new area of `Happy Hardcore.' However this CD might not be `your cup of tea' so to speak. Check it out first if you are not sure. But if you liked any or all of the first three than I would definitely recommend it to you. With that in mind, have a `Happy Hardcore' day. :)

Happy 2 Love Techno,
By DJ Newman (Poway, California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Happy 2b Hardcore 4 (Audio CD)
This Happy 2B Hardcore CD was the fourth and best of the series released by Anabolic Frolic. The other 3 were good don't get me wrong, but this chapter is above and beyond those. The variety is finally there with songs like Elysium by Scott Brown (Check out his new Album) and Give Me a Reason by Bang! give this CD a reason to be bought. A couple of these tracks could've been mixed better but overall who cares. You'll find yourself listening to every song over and over except maybe track 6 which get quite annoying. People need to stop making remixes of classical songs! It's annoying. Other than that this is one fine album you shouldn't miss. This CD is 70 minutes of fast breakbeat action, the best hardcore CD available in the states and reasonably priced. If you like to get on the floor and move fast and hard then buy this and make yourself happy. :-)

One of the Best Chapters,
By gabe welch (Lewisville, Tx) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Happy 2b Hardcore 4 (Audio CD)
This chapter is one of the best out of the collection. I would have to say 2nd best though. Chapter 5 out tops this one just a tad but thats my opinion. This chapter is not too weak but not too strong. Its just straight up Happy Hardcore sound. Heres my thoughts on the track listing... [note:I rated the tracks from one to ten at the end of the discription.]Space Odyessy- Good song. Its basically the Star Trak theme but Its cool how they mixed it up to sound good.7 Everytime I close my eyes - If you like happy hardcore love songs, then this is a good one. Its fast but the woman who sings it is great.8 Better Day - One of the shorter songs on the album and alright.7 Hear Me- really fast song. It would keep you moving if you danced to it. Another alright song.6 All that you see and hear - One of the most tripped out happy hardcore songs I've heard. Its LSDed out. Someone was on Acid when they made it, but its still an awesome song.8 John Gotti's Revenge- This is another theme song. I think its from the Godfather movie, I'm not sure, but it sounds so familiar. Another alright song, if you like break beat.5 Ravers Anthem- More like the Happy Hardcore Anthem. They couldn't of made this song any better.7 Run to me- One of the best songs on the album. Once again, its a very fast paced song.7 Elysium- Best song on the album. This song is what made me love the album so much. Its a dream like song. AWESOME!10 Love of my life - Second best song on album. Another happy hardcore love song.9 I want you- A song that you wish would go on forever.9 Mirror of love- Alright, but the woman on the song doesn't sing all that great but it doesn't ruin the song.7 Clearly Now - Best fast paced song on the album.8 Give me a reason - Good song, but it had some parts in it that kind of ruined it.8 See me climb - If you like happy sounds, then this is the song right here. Cool background noises. 9
