5.0 out of 5 stars Getting my butt back May 18, 2012

This dvd is amazing. Every exercise incorporates the baby somehow and helps you work up a sweat. My baby is 3 months old, about 14 pounds, and LOVED the workout. As a new first-time mom, having an exercise which I can do with my baby that he enjoys is important to me. The workout contains a lot of arm lifts and lunges/squats. The first time I did it, I only got halfway through and was SO SORE the next day, be forewarned. This isn't an easy workout, you will get what you put into it. My friend also has a 3 month old who loved it too, and she was also sore after doing this.

Overall I am intensely satisfied with this dvd, and so thankful it fell into my hands. It's so nice to have something that both me and baby can do together, and gives me such a burn.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Man's point of view November 3, 2013

I bought this for my wife when she complained she could not work out anymore because she always had the baby to take care of. She never ended up using it but I gave it a try last weekend. I now have a 7 month old, I am a personal trainer, so I am familiar with all the workouts in this DVD.

1. This workout DVD was not easy. Lots of strength exercises which were difficult as my baby is close to 20 lbs. For this reason along I will likely do this DVD again. However if my wife started out now it would be too much for her, but if you start when the baby is much lighter you should be able to build up a higher weight at the same rate your baby gains weight.
2. Workout is only 40 minutes, which is good as my baby would not have lasted much longer than that.
3. Requires no special equipment other than baby. I bought the baby DVD on vacation and it was a great vacation workout.
4. Baby loves the exercises and was very engrossed in what I was doing.

1. Several reviews have talked about the personality of the mom in the video. I would have to agree that her on screen personality was a turn off at first and is not nearly to the level of other workout DVD's. I am going to let this go as those other on screen trainers do not make this product. If she made more DVD's I am sure she could improve in this area.
2. Dvd was short. I know that was a pro for the baby, but I wanted to workout more. I could have just done the DVD again, even later in the day.
3. Only one DVD. I wish the mom made a series of these DVD's as this dvd would get old in about a week.
4. While my baby who is almost crawling was engrossed in the video it was also weird for her. So your first time do not expect your baby to love every part.

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy Baby, Exhausted Mama May 16, 2013

I thought I'd have to go through several videos to find one that I would want to work out to on a daily basis but I think my search has ended. The video is a little low budget and no-frills but it does exactly what I need it to me to lose weight while interacting with my baby.
The exercises are pretty basic...jumping jacks, lunges, squats, etc. No fancy dance steps to learn. The workout actually seems pretty easy but the challenging part for me was lifting and holding my baby through most of it. My baby just turned 5 months but he is a tall, big baby at 18 pounds. The ease of the actual movements make this video ideal for beginners or those who have not exercised in a while, but adding your baby's weight to the equivalent is what makes the workout challenging. The music is pleasant enough. It's not crazy techno or hip hop music and it's not annoying children's music. Although I wish the music were a little peppier, it is soothing for the baby and allows you to focus more on what the instructor is saying and doing.
This workout is for moms with babies who can support their own heads. My son could support his own head from 2.5 months of age, so I wish I had started this a lot sooner. To all the new moms out there, good luck on getting your figure back!

UPDATE: There is a very small window of time in which you can do workouts like this. While my son loves watching this video as we workout and giggles the whole way through it, he is a very big baby at over 18 pounds and he is very active. He does not always like to be held up in the air and he crawls away when I put him down on the mat. I end up having to chase after him or get too tired and sore from holding him. I still give this video 5 stars but I think it's better to work out on your own while your baby sleeps if like me, you have a big and active baby.

I think it's awesome to work out with my baby. My hamstrings really feel this work-out with the baby dead lifts! My girl didn't make it through the first time, but the video states that in the beginning. She made it through the next time. She loves some of the moves, and I get a work-out; it's a win-win!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Workout - but play on mute, and not for newborns February 6, 2013

Great Workout, I was in above-average (but not excellent) shape before my pregnancy and this has been a great tool to help me exercise at home while watching the little one. I definitively work up a sweat.

A couple notes: The speaker/instructor has what I would consider a somewhat-annoying voice. Once you get the routine down you may want to mute the volume and turned on your own music. Also, I purchased this when my daughter was 6 weeks old, but quickly realized many of the exercises required her to have better head control than a child has at that age. Finally, don't expect your child to stick with you through the entire workout the first time - it's probably going to be overstimulating for them at first (but this allows you to ease back into exercise and work up to the full 40 minutes yourself!)

3.0 out of 5 stars Effective, but annoying
It's an effective workout, but the trainer is annoying... it's a cheaply made workout DVD, which is fine since the cost to purchase is also low.

Not enough of a cardio workout. My baby didn't enjoy it. The DVD is just average. You can see a lot of the exercises on YouTube.
