Do not waste your time & money!!, March 22, 1999

This review is from: Happy Birthday Bugs: 50 Looney Years [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I love Bugs cartoons but this is very short clips with most of the time taken up by '80s celebraties well-wishers. Tiresome, not entertaining nor funny. I would not give this film even 1 star, but the format did not allow for zero.

a wonderful look at Bugs..., December 9, 2003
This review is from: Happy Birthday Bugs: 50 Looney Years [VHS] (VHS Tape)
while i agree that this video isn't for people wanting full-length Bugs Bunny cartoons (check the other Amazon video "Bugs Bunny Super-Star" for such a thing), i disagree that because snipets of cartoons are shown here and there that it's totally boring! apparently some of the people weren't amused at the wacky protests from Daffy Duck and the hilariously straight performance from Joe Garagiola reporting on the protests! the video was a "mock-u-mentary" with a few serious yet brief commentaries from Friz Freleng, Chuck Jones, and the great Mel Blanc. Milton Berle's appearance in the special basically stole the show from the other celebrities paying homage to Bugs as if the bunny were real!! a running joke was the camera switching over to Daffy Duck in his home fuming over all the attention Bugs is getting. i give the video 4 stars because the short spots with Freleng, Jones, and Blanc could've been way longer than they were. the show originally aired on commercial TV as an hour program. the video is 43 minutes long...meaning that 15 minutes or so were ate up with commercials back in 1990 when it aired on TV. it's a cute little video so be warned of that now...this video is NOT for the type of people who are too serious and can't enjoy a little harmless silliness once in a while from some of the top celebrities of the era.

Bugs 50th Celebration!, January 18, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Happy Birthday Bugs: 50 Looney Years [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Buy this,Lt and MM fans. It spans Bugs' 50th aniversary in 1990 with short clips from Bugs' entire carrier. Also contains interviews with 80s celebrities, also with classic Looney Tunes animators like Robert McKimson,Chuck Jones,Friz Freling(Tex Avery died in 1980.)It also contains tributes with Daffy Duck,Marvin the Martian,Tazmainaian Devil,Speedy Gonzales,Sniffles the Mouse,Mary Jane,The French Chefs(you know their names),Blaque Jacque Shaque(he spoke French, starred in some cartoons and also was the robber of WB),Porky Pig,Elmer Fudd,Wile E. Coyote, the Road Runner, and more LT,MM and WB characters.Although today we're celebratin'Bugs 61th aniversary from 1940 to 2001 and Looney Tunes 71th aniversary from 1930 to 2001.Although this special was produced in 1990,it reminds me of a little somethin'from the 1980s.Those things are Tex Averys Death and Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was the best tv series of all time.Wanna know why?It was adventure.I'm a big fan of adventure.Wanna know the best part? The songs. The songs were the best part because they revise all the hits you know and love from artists like the Carpenders,Jerry Lee Lewis,Elvis Presley,The Supremes, and many others. So,if you wanna celebrate Bugs'1990 birthday, you gotta buy this world renound TV special on home video! This is for LT,MM,and WB freaks, nerds, maniacs, fans, etc.
