This cake arrived timely to Buckeye, AZ. However, I expected the box to be stamped perishable, refrigerated, and to have been placed with dry ice to preserve the cream cheese ingredient also, especially for the $25 S&H fee we paid. But the cake box was just wrapped in plastic. Of course it melted. I have learned not to order from a business that does not give their phone number or email address for questions prior to purchasing. This was a disappointment for all our family involved. The cake had to be ditched, for health reasons. I will give the benefit of the doubt and say the cake probably would have been edible and good if the shipping & handling had been more appropriate.

The line "this delicious cake has been our best seller for over 25 years" is what prompted me to order it over the hundreds of other cakes available on Amazon. A friend's birthday was coming up soon and I don't drive and I wanted something special -- something different from a homemade jobber from a cake mix.

I placed the order for the cake a week in advance. I then emailed [...] and told them the actual date I would need to have the cake delivered. They said, "No problem!" then asked what I wanted written on the cake. I didn't even know that was an option.

The birthday was on a Sunday and I received the cake on Friday. I worried about the condition the cake would be in by the time it arrived. I worried needlessly. I never saw such care taken in preparing a product for shipment! The packaging consisted of a safety ring for the sides, a form-fitting bottom with a round slot for the cake to keep it from shifting in the box, and the entire thing was shrink wrapped. Then the entire thing was placed a zip-lock, foam insert. When I opened the form-fitting box it came in, I saw that the delicate goodies on top of the cake were all in place. It was perfect!

The cake is advertised as being a 7-inch cake and it's a single-layer. It says it serves 6 to 7 servings. When I first looked at it, I thought it looked rather small. But I soon discovered that big things come in small packages. The cake's intense chocolate flavor and rich consistency pack a powerful punch, whereas even a small bite satisfies and delights the palate. It is sweet, yet not so overly sweet that, after a complete serving, it leaves one feeling like they overindulged. The delicate balance of sweetness over chocolate satisfaction means this cake could easily serve 8 people!

The Happy Birthday Chocolate Euphoria Cake is worth every penny. Just the look on my friend's face after the first bite told me I had chosen the perfect birthday cake. The care taken and the materials used to package the cake for safe next-day delivery made the shipping charges a fantastic deal.

I'd award this cake 10 stars out of 5, if I could. I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed, nor will your guests.
