This book is a sequel to the cute, Don't Be Silly, Mrs. Millie! It also focuses on Mrs. Millie, a teacher who has the ability to get her words wrong. The silly mash-ups of words are sure to keep kids entertained throughout. It's a very good book, entertaining as it educates!

I love it when teachers write children's books - they have an inside track into what today's kids love to listen to and read. Kindergarten teacher Judy Cox does not disappoint in this latest Mrs. Millie book. The illustrations are vibrant and the play on words is cute. My little boys love this book. I've not read the other books in this series, but I will definitely be checking them out in the future.

Really cute book that deals with wordplay in a child-friendly setting. The colors are really vibrant. There are plenty of opportunities for an adult to interact with the child through the text, and the story is a playful one. I also am always glad to see stories set in school, since that's where children are for most of the day and is a familiar environment to them. I'm pretty excited to use this book in my classroom someday, and I'm also glad to see that it is part of a series. Loved it!

Happy Birthday, Mrs. Millie! is a fun book for children, both in listening to an adult reading it to them, and also when learning to read. The size of the book and the colorful, exciting illustrations will keep kids wanting to read it time after time. The play on words will get kids to giggle and I can imagine they will want to make up their own silly sentences. Having rhythm and rhyme always is a benefit for children's books. As a former school teacher, I am confident that children will enjoy Happy Birthday, Mrs. Millie!

This is a cute storyline and it's almost like this generations version of Amelia Bedelia. I loved her as a kid. So reading this one to the little one's is enjoyable. I asked my listeners to pick out the mispronounced words. I was amazed that they all could. It was a reverse learning experience. Very nice illustrations as well. Would make a nice gift for a teacher's birthday I think.

Happy Birthday, Mrs. Millie is a very cute story with bright, vivid, appealing and fun illustrations. The text is fun and has a nice rhyme and rhythm to it that will have young children giggling and laughing the entire way through. The play on words adds an extra dimension of fun for both children and adults (such as baboons for balloons, apple moose for apple juice, parrots for parents, camel for candle, and well, you get the picture...) the illustrations that go along with the play on words are also excellent and will induce readers and listeners to lots of laughter.

The size of Happy Birthday, Mrs. Millie is perfect for circle time, story time or cuddling in bed time. This would also be a great book to work into a project or discussion of other ways that the kids can make their own play on words. Creative, fun and perfect for young readers - preschool - 1st/2nd grade.

I've read this book to my own children (aged 5 & 8) and used this as a "filler" when I substitute teach primary grades. It's been a hit in every classroom so far and really holds this kids' attention. (Sometimes I turn the book toward me and conceal the picture until I've read the mixed-up sentence.)

The illustrations are colorful and friendly and large enough to make this useful for a group storytime book. The kids all seemed to enjoy the word play and were quietly engaged with the story as they waited to see what the next page would bring. Smiles, laughs and the shared enjoyment of a silly book was a nice break in a busy day.

When I asked the K-1 students what they liked best about the book they almost all liked the "crazy pictures", especially the baboons (for balloons), the camel (for candle) and the apple moose (for apple juice).

Happy Birthday Mrs Millie is the third book in the Mrs. Millie series and certainly as much fun as the first two. The images are lively, colorful and fun and the story is even better. Mrs. Millie likes to make her kindergarten class fun having telling the kids to "Hang up their Goats" or letting them know that "Gorilla Cheese Sandwiches are on the lunch menu" - this third entry follows the same format and will have kids (and parents) giggling aloud at Mrs. Millie's "mis-pronunciations" . If your kids like Amelia Bedelia - this one is right up there alley and if not, this a great way to introduce them some fun ways to look at things at school and otherwise. There will always be room for Mrs Millie on our bookshelves!
