I bought this for office birthdays and used it for the first time today. Everyone went nuts wanting to know where I got it! Fun for the right group of people. Yes, it is VERY loud...but in the case of our office that just added to the fun.

We have owned this cake plate for four years and have been searching for new ones to purchase for our children and their families. It is sturdy and attractive and conveniently uses ordinary AA batteries. An actual chorus of voices "sings" Happy Birthday. Children and adults delight in hearing the robust voices sing to them and the little blinking lights around the edge of the crystal-like plate add to the fun.

The cake plate is well made and the lights are great for kids parties but word to the wise. There is no volume control that I have found and it is extremely loud. It sounds like a bad new year's eve recording of Happy Birthday. The first time I played it, it sent my 1 year old into the other room as fast as he could crawl.

I just got this today and thought it was so much fun - I can't wait to use it. I expected it to be plastic so wasn't disappointed. I thought the quality of the singing was very good. I can't believe people were disappointed with this item. It should liven up any birthday party!!

Well if your looking to get a product that is as pictured you will be very disappointed Lucky I only paid 3.71 for it, it looks like it walked straight off the dollar discount clearance rack the quality was very poor it is thin plastic with a gaudy look to it the packaging was nicer than this plate I could not get the screw out to place the battery's because even that was cheap and it stripped easily I thought I was getting a pretty good deal but lucky for me I got what I paid for worth a try at this price though
I gave this 5 stars for durability only cuz it was made of plastic so theres not much damage that can be done

The kids loved this! But it is pretty cheaply made. It is not that color as shown in the picture - it is a clear plastic with much fewer lights than shown. I didn't pay full price for it so I am not un-happy but I would be upset if I had paid the full price as listed.

The plate itself had a wiring defect but the quick response and remedy were absoloutely top rate. I was very pleased with the assistance I recieved.

not bad, was a big hit at a double birthday at my office. One of the birthday girls got a bit annoyed after the 5th round so she took the batteries out. Takes 3 AA batteries which are not included. Need a small screwdriver (or very sharp pair of sturdy scissors).

What a hoot! We used this for a friends surprise 19th birthday party. It was great. The younger kids thought the voice singing was a little scary, but it was great. Want to get one for all my children to have :-))

I had read the reviews on Amazon and despite one negative comment about some child being scared by the loud singing, we felt it was worth a try.
Well everyone gets a big laugh out of this thing. You press a button and it sings Happy Birthday. Little lights encircle the platter and they are add to the fun. Our one year old granddaughter and everyone else got a big kick out of it a two of her birthday parties. It can even be cute for adults. You cannot go wrong with this.
