Good product.,
This review is from: The Happy Company Head Trip Therapeutic Massager (Health and Beauty)
Thought I'd try this out after seeing it on TV. For the price, it's a bargain compared to the same product by other companies. Didn't have the same problem as the other reviewer about the handle. It isn't as flimsy as he makes it out to be. I can see how it would fall apart, because the copper wires are glued into the base of the wooden handle. However, the wires seem tightly embedded within the handle. Plus, the wires are thick and the wooden handle itself seems durable for the product I received. The copper is a bit cold to the touch, so you may want to warm it up before placing on your scalp. Overall, I think it does massage the scalp well, albeit ticklish at times. I suppose it can be a head scratcher too but the ends are rounded, so you won't hurt yourself.

Use your head when purchasing this item,

The price was right but the quality poor. Forget the wood handle. It is cheap. The ends of the massager weren't stamped properly and I had to file them down to keep from scratcing my head.

Tingler knockoff isn't quite as tingly!,

What's the deal with the rough-hewn copper balls on the end of the copper wires? They are scratchy. The ends of the Tingler are lacquer-dipped and sliiiiiiiide through your hair.
I knew I should've gone with the Tingler, but I thought, how different can two head massagers be? Apparently, pretty different. Oh, here's a simple trick to determine whether you would like a head massager. Are you one of those people who loves having their hair played with? You will love having a (properly constructed) head massager. If not, don't bother leaving a bad review, because we told you you wouldn't like it...

This is an item I have wanted for many years. I finally purchased this one and I was very disappointed. The quality is poor. There are balls attached at the ends of the wires but they are not soldered properly therefore catches and pulls the hair shaft. Any sort of relaxation is quickly hampered by the pain of hair snagging. I am sure someone makes a nicer quality head massager and with a better construction it would certainly make for a relaxing experience.

I love this thing and I think that the reviews that state it not feeling as great as described is due to set up error... The product comes with the tines flat and you have to rotate them out around the handle so that it will go around your head. The MOST important part is to ADJUST the diameter of the tines! If you leave it as is it will be far too tight (my head is too small for baseball hats and it's still too tight) and will feel scratchy. The idea is to get the tines so that they only LIGHTLY expand over your scalp. Let me tell you, it's an amazing feeling. It's a cheapo product because it's a simple product - you don't need anything fancy! The only way to make it better is if it came with a person to use it on you (it feels much better when not self-administered). Give it a try, you can thank me after you get it.

The ends were rough and scratchy,

I tried one of these contraptions in Argentina and it was fabulous---didn't buy it there but thought I would buy one now. The massage balls on the ends were rough and scratchy, not comfortable, it felt like it was pulling your hair and tearing at your scalp. Save your money!

A fun item,
This review is from: The Happy Company Head Trip Therapeutic Massager (Health and Beauty)
This doesn't actually massage your head, but it sure gives a great scratching sensation. The only problem is that a couple of the balls at the end of the wires have a rough spot on them. They don't hurt, but aren't as smooth as the others.

This massager won't give you the sensation the product description promisies- its more like a head scratcher- but, I like the way it felt on my head. Well made (although the copper on mine was a little rusted when I got it, but, no big deal). The copper smell does get on my nerves, though. Makes a great back/ foot massager.

Head Massager or Head Scratcher?,
This review is from: The Happy Company Head Trip Therapeutic Massager (Health and Beauty)
I have been wanting to get one these for a long time. The ones I have tried in the past have been relaxing. The one from Head Trip had rough tips which scratched rather than rubbed. Not nice! I will try to file down the tips, so the tips are more rounded off...but overall, I think it will be nice and will get the job done!

Maybe something to consider if you have an ITCH.,

I was somewhat disappointed. I had used one similar to this a couple of years ago and thought it was wonderful. This doesn't work quite the same. The prongs bend out of shape too easily and the ends are rough, so it scratches more than massages. The price seemed reasonable, but then again, I don't think the original one I tried years ago had any reason to cost more than that...it's not some master engineered product.
