Esay to use, retains heat and the mobility factor is a definite plus. I like it because it replaces messy over-the-counter plasters that have a lingering unpleasant odor. I have used it for back spasms and it takes the place of an electric heating pad.

I purchased this primarily because I wanted to hold it in place with the straps. The straps are too short if you are above average in size and the buckles fall off easily when you try to adjust them. The instructions say not to heat the insert over 2 minutes, but it took at least 4 minutes in my powerful microwave to get it even close to a therapuetic level of warmth. It did not retain good heat as long as some of my other micro packs.

as the title suggests, you microwave it, it gets warm, you put it against your back on a seat. hence, "microwaveable".
