Biography

The group was started with Howard, his wife Vestal, his sister Gussy and a bass singer circa 1946. Howard and Vestal became a duet in the early '50s. In the early '60's brothers Sam(tenor), Rusty(bass), (bass player and soloist) and son Rick (percussion) joined the group and they became The Happy Goodman Family. Songs on this cd are simply food for the spirit. When Vestal takes the lead on I WOULDN'T TAKE NOTHING FOR MY JOURNEY NOW, you know she means it! These songs are great toe tappers, and truely WOULD make a Baptist want to line dance!
