This review is from: Happy Hats & Cool Caps: To Sew for the Whole Family (Paperback)
This is a great book for making yourself an assortment of simple soft caps and hats (especially in polar fleece). All instructions are included for adults and kids except for the baby bonnet which is only for little ones. I was especially pleased to see that there are instructions at the end for change the brim to suit your taste. There are pictures of all of the hats on people's heads in different fabrics, so you can see what they look like. It also includes patterns for a shawl, muffler, earwarmers, and mittens. It is really more about sewing than millinery, so I would avoid it if you want to make classic felt-style hats. Classic Millinery Techniques by Ann Albrizo is the book you'd want for that style of hatmaking. |
