Editorial Reviews

This enlightening and taboo-breaking film explores the secret underground world of male sex workers in India. Three young men share stories about their lives in the Mumbai (Bombay) sex trade.

Married tailor Imran's family know nothing about his career as a part-time prostitute; Shakeel, a bisexual village migrant, works as an extra in Bollywood; and Vicky is a proudly effeminate dancer who enjoys performing as a woman in traditional tamasha performance.

Few other documentaries have succeeded in getting such significant access into the different strands of home and family life along with the more predictable business side. A brave piece of film making from a country that still criminalises any 'alternative' sexual practice.

This is an excellent film - well researched, revealing and highly entertaining. Even if this is a subject matter you have never considered, this film will pull you in and leave you with much to think about. I look forward to more from the director!
