Fave group but another dodgy album, November 19, 1999
By A Customer
Okay, they're my favourite group and I've got all their stuff but I can still grumble,it's my right. I waited a long time for this album,4 years since Electronic Pleasure, and was very dissapointed. In the UK there were no bonus tracks(Set You Free&Stayin' Alive)which would have helped sales. Also the excellent B track So High was omitted. The album's great for people who only like the band but for real fans of N-Trance and trance itself there is a lack of real quality. All those covers are nice(except DISCO)and Tears In The Rain is one of the most beautiful piano ballads ever, Amadeus is definitely worth a listen being particuarly innovating, combining Mozart with a furious techno beat and piano wizardry. TMOTM is excellent. Unfortunately the inclusion of tracks like If(a smoochy track sung by Jerome)stop the group from acheiving the status I believe they can attain. Lots of diversity but no longer the trance/techno sound which N-Trance made their name by.

If you only buy one album this year, Happy Hour should be it, November 16, 1999
I couldn't stand it anymore, I had to go out and get a copy of this cd; the songs just kept getting stuck in my head! This is, by far, the best CD I've ever listened to. Although N-Trance isn't really a household name in the US, many people remember when "Stayin Alive", N-Trance's take on the Bee Gees song, hit the airwaves a few years back. The song is also the theme music for Full Blooded Italians, an ECW tag team. Why this CD was never mass merchandised in the US, I'll never know. An eclectic mix of trip hop, trance, R&B, and euro dance, this CD is diverse enough for any true music fan to enjoy. I especially liked their take on Guns-N-Roses' "Paradise City" and Rod Stewart's "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy". The only real complaint I have about this CD is this particular version of "Set you Free". Anyone who's ever heard this song knows that there are, like, a million mixes of this song. This mix just irritates me. The beat is out of date and it's just missing something. I bought this CD thinking that "Set You Free", my favorite song in the world, would be the original mix; man was I wrong! This little glitch aside, I love the album. Everyone should listen to it and experience the N-Trance sound. If there's one CD you buy this year, make it "Happy Hour". Also, the album covers... TRIPPY!
