5.0 out of 5 stars An Awesome Book! October 14, 2011
A Kid's Review
Format:Hardcover
By This Kid Reviews Books. Find me on the Web!

Gerald the elephant is feeling out of place. It is Pig Day and Gerald's best pal Piggie and all his pig friends are having a great pig time. When Piggie notices Gerald is missing from the celebration, he goes to find him. Will it be a Happy Pig Day for everyone? I'm not going to tell you...read the book! Ha ha!

This book was just awesome. The story is fun and it teaches about friendship and being included. Piggie and Gerald are great characters. My sister who is having some trouble reading actually read the book three times in a row the day we got the book (OK...I have also read the book a couple times -it's just so funny!). Mr. Willems books are some of the best children's books I have ever read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pigs are GREAT!!!! October 6, 2011
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
We love ALL of the Gerald and Piggie books, as well as Pigeon books, by Mo Willems. He is a genius in our home!! My triplet girl absolutely LOVES Piggie and all pigs, so she really enjoyed the book. As for us adults (mommy and daddy) we didn't think that it was as wonderful as the other Gerald & Piggie books. Still very cute and sweet, but not quite up to par as the others. Don't worry. We will always purchase Mo's books. He is fantastic and really knows how to captivate a toddler.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's Mo Willems. What Else Is There To Say? January 1, 2012
Format:Hardcover
Reason for Reading: I love Mo Willems!

Piggie is celebrating his favourite day "Pig Day" but when he finds his friend Gerald has left the festivities he goes looking for him to find out what is the matter. Can Gerald the Elephant enjoy Pig Day when he is an Elephant. I don't have a lot to say about this book. It's Mo Willems and Elephant & Piggie! You can't go wrong. Fun story with a little lesson about accepting and participating in others' festival or holidays. Illustrations are what we expect from Willems and these books are going to become classics for future generations. The end pages are their usual fun to look at, watch for Pigeon to show up. I'll just say this book is not quite up to par with most of the others in this series. It's cute and fun but didn't quite hit the hilarious mark this time but, hey!, it's still Mo Willems, so that's not saying much.
