I frequently wonder what else I can do to entertain and teach my 10 month old. This CD is a fun part of our day. I dance around with my daughter on my hip and sing to her - she LOVES it. The music is enjoyable for adults and I don't get sick of hearing and singing the songs over and over. I would definitely buy this as a gift.

My 2 1/2-year-old daughter loves this CD and it's one of the few contemporary sounding children's music CDs we've found. My husband and I don't mind hearing it over and over, the songs are easy to sing along with, and a few of the songs, especially the lullaby "When You Were Born," are touchingly sweet, without descending into sentimental schmaltz. Definitely a great buy for kids and the parents who will have to listen to it, too!

We saw this group at the Central PA Festival of the Arts in 2002. The kids (ages 5 and 9) had a great time at the concert and we play this CD ALL the time. The music won't make you crazy, won't bore the kids, and has a great beat for little ones without giving Mom and Dad a headache.

We saw Milkshake when they performed at the Children's Museum in NYC, and my 3 yr old daughter loved the music (and the show!!). We bought the cd when we came home from our vacation, and as soon as she heard the 1st song, she recognized it and started clapping and singing along. ("La la la...") My 5 yr old son is also a fan now. The cd is simply wonderful, and very easy on adult ears as well -- great for those of us weary of the sugary, irritating kids' music to which we are usually subjected. Here's hoping for another release from Milkshake!!!

Happy Songs is a work of art. The songs are written with love and it does come through with every word. Lisa Matthews has a gift and it is her voice and great song writing. I hope to hear more soon.

Really... Happy Songs is just terrific! Our son, who is 22 months, LOVES the music... and my wife and I love it too (which is unheard of since we listen to things about a million times before thankfully putting them on the shelf and moving to the next thing!). We sing "Breakfast Time" each morning and offer up some tennis shoe stew or roast ghost... our son laughs, shakes his head and responds with "noooooooo". We count fingers and toes, dance and clap hands to the beat. Lisa's voice is perfectly matched to the music. The melodies are contemporary and catchy... and the lyrics are fun and deliver a very positive message in a light-hearted way. In short, Happy Songs is a "must have" CD which your children AND you will enjoy again and again!

This album is the perfect mix for families. Notice I didn't say "for KIDS", I said for FAMILIES!! As an avid music listener, I was dreading having kids and having to listen to that purple dinosaur or other saccharine aural pacifiers, but Milkshake has saved my ears (halleluyah!). My 2.6 year old LOVES both albums and I enjoy listening to them too. Happy Songs is the perfect blend of hit songs (the title track has graced the XMKids Top Thirteen Under Thirteen for a good long time), silly songs (Anyone for some yummy critter fritters in "Breakfast Time"?) and good quality melodies that rival the likes of Jewel and Ani DiFranco. Do yourself and your kids a favor, buy both Milkshake CD's, force them to listen to them once through and you'll be chucking those dinosaur CD's out the window [ED: Author does NOT condone littering] in no time at all.

I have both of Milkshake's cd's, Happy Songs and the new one, Bottle of Sunshine, and I love them. My four year old is constantly singing and dancing to them, and has been enjoying Milkshake since she was two. I, too, know all of the words to the songs, and enjoy listening to them (unlike some other children's music which is not as pleasing to the ears of parents). I highly recommend both cd's.

The songs are cute and catchy. They are easy for parents to listen to as well as children, which is important, too!

By far, the best music for children! Great for Moms and Dads too!!!
