4.0 out of 5 stars Works for me.
After having used a thick nylon jump rope for years, switching to this much faster PVC rope was a shock. It took me a little while to get used to it, but I did. Now I like this one better than the nylon one. Its action is smooth. I haven't needed to shorten it, so I can't comment on that aspect of it. But watch yourself with it. If it hits you, it hurts! That hasn't...

3.0 out of 5 stars Indoor use only? Maybe?
I upgraded my good'ol leather jump rope to this one. I really like it. Ball bearing makes it goes very smooth and fast, and I can do way better than I could with my old one.
But after 2 weeks, it snapped. I used it three times a week for 15-20 minutes each time, and it snapped from the middle of the rope.

Yes, I used it on concrete ground on my...

Yes, I used it on concrete ground on my drive way, but after TWO WEEKS???

If I have an indoor space to work out, I would have done so, but I don't think many people get to be that lucky. If I have a gym to go to, I wouldn't need the jump rope to warm up.

I liked the product, but I would suggest to use it only on flooring.

4.0 out of 5 stars Harbinger 331000 Speed Jump Rope, February 20, 2006
This review is from: Harbinger 9' Speed Jump Rope (Sports)
I am very happy with this jump rope. It was very easy to adjust to my height. I have not jumped rope in years and wanted something new to add to my workout. I am enjoying this jump rope very much. It is very light and user friendly.

1.0 out of 5 stars Durable? I think not..., December 7, 2008
This review is from: Harbinger 9' Speed Jump Rope (Sports)
I read every single review for every speed rope available on amazon.com. I thought that I would make an intelligent decision and buy this rope based on the positive reviews from others.

What they said was true. It is good for people 6'0 tall and it can be adjusted. It looks nice and has a nice rubber rope cover.

I put this rope to its test and was doing fast double jumps, tricks, etc...

At first I thought this rope was perfect. I was finishing up my casual warm up when the rope snaps in two and hits me on the face. Outside that black cover is an incredibly thin rope ( clever using cheap material inside? ) .

I am pissed of now because I need to continue my workout so I put duck tape over it, and will use it temporarily. Now I am going to order an everlast rope. I hope it doesn't suck as much as this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars solid jump rope, August 2, 2006
This review is from: Harbinger 9' Speed Jump Rope (Sports)
This is a good jump rope for people at pretty much any fitness level. The only problem is that it is quite difficult to adjust. If you are about 6-1 or 6-2 you won't have to adjust it at all. Once that task is completed, you will find that this rope offers a smooth and challenging workout. It hurts a little bit when it hits you, but that just offers more incentive for you to be perfect.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not great!!!, April 17, 2008

I have tried different speed ropes throughout the last 2 years. Here is my opinion on the 4 ropes I tried. The best I tried was the Buddy Lee Master speed rope with the Aero speed a close 2nd. They are smooth, comfortable and fast. However, the Aero speed is a bit light. The Harbinger comes in 3rd. Its a really good rope, but I did not like the handles which were a bit uncomfortable and the end caps fell off constantly. The last was the Valeo which was a bit light to the touch. All of these ropes will suit any one who likes jumping rope. Its a matter of personal preference.

5.0 out of 5 stars Harbinger best ropes, from veteran jumper, February 7, 2008

FOR SERIOUS JUMPING, CAN'T DO BETTER>>>>I've been jumping semi-professionally for 3 years, and found Harbinger weighted ropes to be the best for overall aerobic and toning fitness...the Buddy Lee hyperperformance ropes (use the highest price option w the ball bearings) are best for non-weighted power jumping, and the Ropesport series of videos are the absolute best (google Ropesport to find them, on DVD, get the entire series) is the best training series you'll find...I'm 54 yo, and I can jump to the right music for 45 mins straight, doing crosses and rope turns and enjoying the heck out of feeling and looking so good...jumping is the best, once you get over the learning stage hump of struggling...but once you get there, the joy of jumping and the fitness you'll experience is like nothing else imaginable

5.0 out of 5 stars better rope than those in the gyms, November 19, 2007

This review is from: Harbinger 9' Speed Jump Rope (Sports)
Initially, I thought I would get the cheap quality jump rope. I was wrong. It is a smooth simple medium-weight rope that swings without twisting the chord. Although it seems to be slightly long for my height(5'10), I managed to jump more than 500 times without stopping. With the cheap ones at the gym, I could only jump around 300 times. So, it gets me going. And, that satisfies me.

I bought this with the idea that my wife and I could get some extra easy, cheap cardio when it is cold out and when we can not make to the gym. So far I have had one session with them. Jump roping is actually a little more strenuous than I thought and I am in decent shape. I would like to see what my calves look like after about 2 months of doing this.

As far as the product, it is ok. The rope is bent up and I imagine it will take a little while to straighten since it is plastic. I am 6'2" and the length maybe a little short for me but that could be because the rope is bent a little and my skills are not up to par yet. Overall, for the price, I think it is a good buy and I think I will use them frequently.
