Excellent read!, December 7, 2005
This review is from: The Hard Awakening (Hardcover)
Dehqani-Tafti was the first (and only) Anglican Bishop of Iran, from 1961 until he was forced to flee Iran during the Revolution. There are many reasons one might want to read this book -- for me, one element was his insider's look at the changes in Iran as it slid down from a tolerant society into militant chaos, a perspective not available to many Americans whose only knowledge of Iran began with the hostages. (Sadly, I am here because our copy has somehow disappeared from our bookshelves at home.)

VISION COME TRUE, December 31, 2011
This review is from: The Hard Awakening (Hardcover)
A factual and detailed account of events in Iran during and after the 'revolution'. Bishop Dehgani-Tafti's vision, illustrated by Hafez's poem on the inside cover, "Love at first sight appeared easy, but afterwards full of difficulties. ..." has so often come true since the events. Excellent read.
