5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down September 23, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love discovering a talented new author and Mr. Bullotta can definitely be listed among the best.

The stage is set during the opening for the plot twists that follow. Nothing gets in the way of the story as Jordon begins his new career in L.A. The suspenseful page-turner keeps your attention as it builds toward the unexpected climax.

The story develops as Jordon Stowic, a newly appointed prosecutor in L.A., moves from the midwest to the City of Lights and is quickly introduced to the courtroom. Rooming with his childhood best friend, Stan, he discovers life in LA and unsuspectingly becomes ensnarled in an investigation being conducted by Detective Juan Jose Ramirez. Detective Ramirez is furiously looking for the murderer of his "adopted" son, but all of his leads have dried up and he has come to a dead end. As the driven detective attempts to re-start his investigation, the unsuspecting Jordon soon finds himself drawn in, becoming a target of the criminal group responsible for the murder.

Bullotta has done a wonderful job writing a book that is hard to put down. As a first endeavor, it's remarkabley well written and will keep you spelbound as the story progresses. Definitely a must read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Captivating! November 4, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
"The Firm" by Grisham was one of my favorite books ever. "Hard Core" is "The Firm", but with a more intriguing backdrop-criminals, gangs, detectives, forensic chemists and prosecutors. A must read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fact and Fiction January 10, 2012
By ABH
Format:Paperback
Definitely a good read. I worked in a "City" that has its issues with gangs and saw first hand how it effects everyone associated with them. The book depicts this very well. No one is safe! Enjoyed the plot; the twists and turns; the surprises of peoples activities; makes one question (again) what someone will sell out for in their life. Looking forward to the next book. Will it follow Jordan or will another character come into being? Kudos for a fab first book.
