I ordered this kit as a plan B, due to difficulties ordering directly from the Microsoft store online.

Unfortunately, this is not the entire Xbox 360 HD data transfer kit. It is only the cable included in said package.

In order to transfer data from an Xbox 360 to another 360, you need a corresponding disc to insert into the Xbox, which this product DOES NOT SHIP WITH.

If you're intending to use this for Xbox Data Migration, (as i was) refrain from purchasing this product from this seller, and buy it directly from the Microsoft store online!

First of all, This item is like poison to your hardrive. Any hard drive that you connect to this fake transfer kit will suffer the same fate as mines did. If you connect this to your harddrive and 360, The new drive that you have connected to the transfer kit will be detected as a USB drive for some reason, And the 360 will ask you to format it, From there your hard drive is completely ruined beyond return. I don't understand why people sell these fake transfer kits when all they do is ruin other people's 360s.

Buy an official transfer kit from Gamestop or any official outlet that sells it. It seems unfortunate that buying it from sellers off amazon is a scam.

Yes, this is JUST THE CABLE, NOT A TRANSFER KIT! The transfer kit is for migrating one 360 hard drive to another, however, if you are making the move from a 360 to a 360 Slim, then this is what you need! Buy it here on Amazon because this thing'll run you $20 at Gamestop, where here you can grab it for just over $5. Transferring to the Slim is a breeze since the migration software is built in! There is zero need for the transfer kit's disc with the software on it. The only thing you need is this cable. To migrate your data, simply pop off your 360 hard drive and plug it into the large rectangular part of the cable and then plug the USB side of the cable into one of the Slim's 6 USB ports! (Make sure you do the initial setup on the Slim first though and make a quick profile that you can delete after) The Slim will auto-detect another hard drive and ask if you want to transfer to the connected hard drive, or if you want to transfer data to the console- obviously, you pick transfer to console. The process is FAST! I only had about 8 gigabytes of data and it took about 5 minutes until it was done. Super fast. And after that, you have all your info just as if it were your old Xbox! No dowloading map packs again, all your old profiles, save game files and preferences are all still there!

I Received the transfer cable & software. Disc was cracked. Contacted BestDealUSA and they sent me another order. Received that cable & software and that disc was cracked too. Contacted BestDealUSA yet again and they sent me yet another order. This time the disk was intact. When I loaded the disk in my computer & scanned it for bugs, sure enough, it had the TROJAN.GEN.2 virus on it. Disk is write protected so it cannot be removed from the install software. rendering this product 100% useless for it's intended purpose. I will not buy from this seller in the future which is too bad because they appeared to be making a solid attempt to satisfy their (former) customer

My old Xbox 360 got the 3 RROD and so I bought the Xbox 360 Slim 4GB to replace it. I hooked my old hard drive up to the cable and put the other end of the cable in the USB port of the Xbox 360 Slim and was able to transfer the data from my old hard drive on to my new Xbox 360 Slim. There is no use in going out and buying a transfer kit or a Microsoft-brand cable when you can get this for 15 bucks cheaper. Great deal.

Don't buy ANYTHING from this seller. Its a counterfeit cord that he tries to justify by cost. Didn't work. The XBOX thought it was USB Flash Drive and if you don't pay attention it will delete your hard drive. To top it off he's rude about it like its ok for him to sell items that say Microsoft on them when are fakes from Asia.

As the other review stated this is an incomplete product. Don't be fooled by people claiming that the new Slim 360 has the data mitigation software built in, it doesn't. I just got my slim recently and bought this product believing one of the 5 star reviews. I hooked it all up and it does see the drive... as a USB device that needs to be formatted. Great format your drive and you've just defeated the purpose of buying the silly cord. Save yourself the 10 bucks (after shipping) and use it towards the official package that comes with the DVD software.

I purchased this cable thinking it was a cheaper solution to transfer my xbox 360 data but when it came and i tried to use it the cable didnt work.

Bougt this when I bought a new hard drive. When I tried to use it, I couldn't even transfer any thing! I had to download all om games again! Don't waste your money!

DON'T BUY! This knock-off doesn't work and its support site is full of viruses.
