Frost turns up the heat,
By Stephen Brown(slbury@emirates.net.ae) (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hard Frost (Paperback)
Jack Frost is not the person you would invite to dinner with friends you are trying to impress but he does have endearing qualities that not only make him a good detective, but wit that many a stand up comedian would be proud of. In the latest Frost series Jack is called from leave to find a missing boy and along the way has murder, and fraud to deal with. The story moves along at great pace with Mullet playing two ends against the middle as usual while Jack gets an old foe who loathes him to assist in the crime spree and Jack of course turns this to his own advantage.. There is also a new female kid on the block who has delusions of grandeur which are repelled by the male chauvanism that pervades in the police station. This is a great read and one that will make you laugh aloud from time to time whilst keeping your attention to the job at hand.

Great police procedural,
This review is from: Hard Frost (Paperback)
if you like british police procedurals, this is for you. I am sorry that there are not more books about Frost. My only reservation about this is that it involves kidnapping and mistreatment of children. Some parts were hard to read because of that.

Frost keeps up the good work,
By Peter Andersson (j.p.andersson@swipnet.se) (Gothenburg, Sweden) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hard Frost (Paperback)
People who did not enjoy any of the previous stories about Jack Frost probably won't like this one either. For the rest of us, it's a continuation of one of the best detective-story-series ever. Superintendent Mullett is as much of a pig as ever (boy I am glad he's not my boss!!) and Frost also gets himself a new archnemesis. Like in the previous books, there's a lot going on at the same time. The main crime is the kidnapping of a young boy.

Loved This Series from Amazon,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Hard Frost (Paperback)
I have now read all six of the Frost series. I just loved them and hated to finish. Each book is really of series of crime stories pulled together and finally resolved by the overworked, unkempt and unruly but canny detective inspector Frost in inhospitable weather, hence the titles. Christmas Frost is really the first of the series; after that, or even though that, the order really makes no difference.
