5.0 out of 5 stars JE Done did it AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone who doesn't feel this CD is crazy! Each track has a certain personality to it. When you are done listening to the CD you will find at least one song stuck in your head! This CD is the best of JE's work. They never fail to amaze me. I have been a fan since A Jagged Era and will continue to be one. This is a great CD with tracks everyone can relate to. 3.0 out of 5 stars At least they came up with their own album title
Jagged Edge is a pretty talented male R&B group (and probably one of the only ones around right now) that is still capable of making good stuff. I liked "Walked Outta Heaven" as soon as I heard it, and their new song, "What's It Like", is pretty good too. But as far as the remainder of this album called Hard, well, they didn't really hit very hard.

The thing is, I...

What's It Like is a personal favorite. It talks about leaving your childish ways and wanting to know what love is like. The beats are hot and the lyrics are great. If you don't have Hard make sure to go out and get it, you will not be disappointed!! JE YA'LL

5.0 out of 5 stars JE on top of their game, October 14, 2003

Jagged Edge manages to stay a cut above the rest of the urban male groups with the release of their fourth album HARD. Jagged Edge kicks of their latest effort with the engaging single "Walked Out Of Heaven" a soulful ballad that finds them longing for the romance they once had with that special lady. Brian Michael Cox handles the production on the first single and he does an admirable job. Stand out tracks on this album include "Visions" a beautiful track produced by Jermaine Dupri,

the title track "Hard" a signature sound known to JE, and "Trying To Find The Words" another ballad with those lush JE harmonies. When all is said and done this album is well rounded balancing Ballads and uptempo club bangers, this is a near classic album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Amazing., October 19, 2003

Once you put this CD in your stereo, you won't be able to stop listening. Ballads are unmatched, even if compared to Ginuwine, Usher, Latif, perhaps even 112 at the moment. What lacks in a song that resembles anything like "Where the party at" makes up for it in their beautiful lyrics, especially in the song "What's it like" and "don't wanna"; Those songs will definitely touch you, no doubt. The only real uptempo song is "Dance Floor", other than that, R&B. This CD is for the relationship, R&B enthusiasts, but still, get this CD, you will not be disappointed.

Now this is a classic RB Album, one of their best since JE HEARTBREAK.

1.They Ain't JE (7/10) This is an okay joint, usually skip it.

2. Walked Outta Heaven (10/10) This is the hottest track I've heard on the radio from them. I love it seems so emotional and had a effect on me.

3. Girls Gone Wild- Featuring Major Damage (10/10) This is a hot dance track, makes u wanna get on the dance floor. I like that they can switch up from ballads to up tempo tracks.

4. Visions (10/10) This song is hot a mid-tempo that talks about having visions of a girl but thinking she is using them, but the girl says that a girl has to have game 2. The girl sings so beautifully.

5. Hard (10/10)This a hot track, has a different vibe talks about regreting that you didnt love that person as hard as u could have.

6. Dance Floor (10/10) A hot joint talking about just hitting the dance floor, tight up tempo joint.

7. Trying To Find The Words (10/10) This song is tight, talking about trying find the words to describe the girl in their life.

8. What's It Like (12/10) One of My Favs. This song is a beautiful ballad, the fellas ask what is really like to be in love. A questions I have been asking myself for a long time.

9. Tryna Be Your Man (9/10) This track is hot, it talks about not wanted a friendship but something more.

10. I Don't Wanna (10/10) This is classic JE, talks about not wanting to love anyone but that special girl.

11. In Private (10/10) I love this track, talking about getting in private

12. In The Morning (13/10) My fav track, NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE THIS SONG

13. Shady Girl (10/10) Good Song, about those shady girls

14. Car Show - Featuring Big Boi (9/10) A pretty tight track, featuring my boi from OUTKAST

5.0 out of 5 stars It's not "Hard" to make a good CD and JE proves that., November 18, 2003

Ever since I heard their slow jam, "I Gotta Be", I have been a fan of Jagged Edge. Every time they come out with a CD they bring a good all around flavor of sensual slow jam ballads and a good balance of midtempo and uptempo songs. This time around there is no difference. "Hard" is the first CD where JD didn't really have alot of input as far as producing and composing of songs are concerned. However, it doesn't seem like JD is missed at all. Although, JD and Bryan Michael Cox, do produce two songs, "Visions" and "Shady Girl". "Visions" is one of the better songs on "Hard". The songs samples one of my favorite slow jams of all time, "You Are My Starship" by Norman Connors. In the song, Jagged Edge starts to question the intentions of a female that one of them is dealing with, when in reality she is just playing the game just like a man would do. You have to play the game for atleast a little while just to make sure that the male or female has the right intentions. "Shady Girl" samples Naughty By Nature's "Uptown Anthem" and should be a club banger real soon once a DJ gets a hold of the track. The 1st single for "Hard" is the stellar slow jam, "Walked Outta Heaven". This track is definitely up there as one of Jagged Edge's best slow jams ever. This clearly demonstrates that Jagged Edge has excellent writing skills. In the running for a close second is "I Don't Wanna". It's no coincidence that Bryan Michael Cox produces both of these songs. It seems that he and Jagged Edge have a good formula when it comes to making slow jams. "What's It Like" has Jagged Edge asking what's it like to actually be in love. The ladies will eat that one up real quick. "In Private" and "In The Morning" has JE spicing things up just as they did on "What'Ya Trying To Do" from their "JE Heartbreak" CD. Fans of their slow jams will not be disappointed at all. Even the title track will surprise you. As far as the uptempo jams go, "Car Show" featuring Outkast's Big Boi is clearly the best uptempo song on the CD. Big Boi has a fire voice and JE will have the folks bouncin' just like they did on "Cut Somethin'" with Ludacris from their "Jagged Little Thrill" CD. "Girls Gone Wild" adds some reggae flavor just as 112 did for their first single "Na Na Na".

Overall, if you are a fan of JE's previous CDs (A Jagged Era, JE Heartbreak and Jagged Little Thrill), then you will not be disappointed in "Hard" at all. This is clearly an example of a r&b group with staying power.

James' Top 5

1) Walked Outta Heaven
2) I Don't Wanna
3) Visions
4) Car Show w/Big Boi
5) What's It Like

5.0 out of 5 stars Stellar Jagged Edge Cd!! Don't Sleep on this....................., October 3, 2005
By
This review is from: Hard (Audio CD)
Excellent cd! Stellar album by Jagged Edge that is so good that you can't help but listen to the songs over and over again! I just got this cd in the mail this past Saturday, and in listening, it is a sad reminder of how the best groups with the best albums sometimes never get the best recognition they deserve. Now, this is one solid album! The singing, the lyrics, the melodies, and beats are all awesome, and what proves the true talent of these four men are that they write their own music. This is commendable because most of these so-called "artists" can't even write their own music, but get the success that should go to groups like Jagged Edge. "They ain't JE" is a nice, catchy song that you move and shake and was a good choise in being the first song on the cd right before you get into the slow, beautiful singing on "Walked right outta Heaven", a song you just can't help but play over and over again. "Visions" is another nice song about relationships and trying to catch the interest of someone you want, then there is "Dance Floor", another groovy song you can shake too, not to mention "Girls Gone Wild", a party song for the clubs and entertainment that you can just vibe to. The prettiest song on the cd is "Hard", the same title of the album, that is just so lovely and catchy that it is ever so appalling that this song never made radio waves. And I mean APPALLING! "Hard" is such a beautiful song, and the fact that the only time you hear is when you get the cd shows how lacking and ridiculous this whole "music scene" is. Seriously, anyone in doubt of this album need not be because it is a well-produced, strong and stellar cd that deserved to get more recognition and hype that what it received. This album had the potential of having at least 6 top 10 singles on the charts (and that's just 6!)from "Hard", "Dance Floor", "What's It like", "Visions", "Girls Gone Wild", "They Ain't JE". Every single song from #1 through #8 is a great song, and so good that no skipping through is necessary. Now, it is very rare when you don't have to skip through the first few songs on a disc, so you know it's good when you don't have to do that. Sorry for the long review, but had to give this an accurate review because people only pay attention to media-hyped garbage. Grade: A+

JAGGED EDGE has done their ever-so-unique magic on us again. Can you believe that these hot men can continuously make a hit after hit. Well I can. There was no doubt that they would come back with something that is better than the last albums. If you really want to listen to some soul, and music coming straight from the heart, cop this album, you will never regret it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars HOT!!!! BUT NO CLUB BANGER????, October 18, 2003
This review is from: Hard (Audio CD)
I GOTTA ADMIT, THIS CD IS HOT. I THINK THAT IT REALLY SHOWS JE TALENTS, AND CREATIVITY. BUT I WAS LOOKING FOR THAT CLUB BANGER THAT JUST HYPES UP THE CD AND GIVES IT ENERGY, AND I DID NOT FIND IT. JD ONLY PRODUCES 1 SONG, AND THAT WAS THE MOST BEAT WORTHY SONG ON THE CD. I LOVE JE AND RESPECT THEIER TALENTS SO IM GIVING THEM 5 STARS, BUT I DID NOT FEEL THE ENERGY OFF THIS ALBUM. IF YOU LIKE R&B I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ALBUM. ALL WE GOT TO SEE IS WHAT 112 IS GOING TO DO TO MATCH THIS.

PEACE
