4.0 out of 5 stars "I will have order!" November 2, 2009
Format:VHS Tape|Verified Purchase
Of David Bradley's relatively short career as an action hero, "Hard Justice" is probably his most action-packed vehicle outside of his forays as an American Ninja and almost certainly his most unique. On one hand, it's an uneven and unrealistic cop-in-prison movie, but on the other, it's a surprisingly ambitious kicks-and-guns action picture with some of the better production values of the DTV scene.

The story: following a disastrous bust on a gun-smuggling ring, ATF agent Nick Adams (Bradley) goes undercover into a prison run by corrupt warden (Charles Napier, The Silence of the Lambs) to investigate the murder of his friend and fellow agent.

At its best, the movie looks like a theatrical production. Backed by New Line Cinema, the film manages some impressively-sized action pieces, including two helicopter scenes, and director Greg Yaitanes (Emmy winner for his work on House, M.D.) manages to occasionally elevate the quality of the production to respectable levels...and then, inexplicably, he lets it fall considerably. From out of nowhere come the amateurish zoom shots and the unnecessary slow motion, reminding you that this is indeed just a DTV film. Nevertheless, if you're used to low-budget action movies, this one's high points still manage to impress - just don't watch it if you're planning to compare it to larger films.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beats "Die Hard"!!! Non-stop excitement! Super-charged! February 18, 1999
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
I was blown away by the intensity of the filmmaking. Crazy stunts that I've never seen before. Slick stylized photography. And alot of my favorite supporting actors. Director Greg Yaitanes took what could have been a typical action-flick and made it look like a fifty-million dollar summer blockbuster. In my ten years of being a published film critic, I have never seen raw gritty directing talent like I saw in "Hard Justice." I saw it at least half a dozen times, and I plan on seeing it half a dozen more.

5.0 out of 5 stars HOW DID I MISS THIS IN THE THEATER!? April 5, 1999
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
This is one of those films that belongs on your "gotta rent that" list. But after you watch it, you'll put it on your "gotta own this" list. Crazy action sequences that cause spontaneous laughter and a sudden need to hit the rewind button. The bad guys are the best part. Make the popcorn in advance and kill the lights, this film is a must have for any good couch commando.

4.0 out of 5 stars It was a good action/adventure film! May 15, 2001
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
I've seen Hard Justice on cable a couple of times and I decided to buy the uncut, no commercial film version. I've seen it twice already. The special effects were explosive and the fighting scenes were fun to watch. It's really good to see David Bradley again in an action/adventure movie. The "love interest sparks" between Nick and Hannah were sweet. It fits well in the story even though there were mostly shooting, blowing cars, and lots of kick-butt fighting.

5.0 out of 5 stars On the set of Hard Justice April 7, 2000
Format:VHS Tape
I played one of the many prisoners in this film. The special effects and the stunts were great, as well as working with the other actors. I find myself watching this video again and again because of the action. It is definitely a video to add to your library if you are an action fan.
