If you like weed, you'll love Weed..., July 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Hard to Kill (Audio CD)
The genre of this CD cannot be classified, unless there was one called "GREAT"!!! I was totally blown away by this CD. It is, what I would call, "rave" type music, you can almost see the strobe lights blinking in front of you. If you like the new Chemical Brothers CD you are sure to like this. Weed - Hard To Kill just came out at the beginning of April, 1999 and I can't wait to see what they have in store for their next album...

Great mystical trip-hop, September 4, 1999

This album is quite pleasant, it sets very mystical ambiance, and the singer`s voice flies over the trip hop music with lightness and a great aura. The music sets you in a gothical india - pot smell ambiance.

Finalement, I found out who these guys are . . ., August 31, 2007
This review is from: Hard to Kill (Audio CD)
En bref . . . I first heard Weed's "Hit and Miss" on CJSR, which is an excellent university FM station in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I heard the tune in my apartment and excitedly ran to my cassette machine (remember those?) and taped the tune in 1999 without knowing who did it, which was extremely frustrating. I searched high and low internet-wise (off and on) until August 2007 to find out who did this tune and finally a review offered enough clues ("trip hop", "dark mood", "guitar break") that I knew that it had to be the same tune. Then I checked out the samples on amazon and bought this CD. Thus far, all of the reviews are from 1999, so I guess I'm behind the times, maybe, but eight years later . . . this is still powerful stuff. People to whom I have introduced these tunes want to get this CD, and they tell people about it and these other people also want to buy it, and so on, and so on, so I don't think that my my admittedly after-the-fact enthusiasm may be suspect. There is a mysticism and a kind of spiritual yearning (as well as musical training - check out the artists' bios) here that make this CD very potent and unforgettable. Highly recommended . . .
