I am not going to review grammar pr punctuation. I have found that Indy authors, Kindle and basic grammar , through no fault of the authors, do not get along. That being said, I liked this book. Although I think that the main characters seemed rushed into getting into a relationship, it was over a three day weekend from when Lara dumped Greg and her and Mason professed their love for each other, the author was able to explain this in that they had been attracted to each other for quite some time. Laura's marriage had been actually falling apart for a while.
At times, it seemed that the conversation between Mason and Laura were like two horny teenagers and the description of body parts predictable, the story shined through. Domestic violence and the pain of 2 failed marriages is well written. The final "battle" for Laura had me reading faster. The cliff hanger has me looking forward to the next book. If you like books full of sex, Hard as Mason is for you. This book is not for the prudes.

Cindy Wells’ debut novel “Hard as Mason”, is a fast paced, sinful little treat. The title alone says it all. Mason is one hard, hot blooded man just waiting for you to devour. This book is full of sizzling scenes sure to leave readers tingling all over.

Laura’s marriage is a mess. Greg, her husband, is a controlling, chauvinistic a**hole. He has certain ideas about what a wife should be like, that being, a wife who is barefoot and pregnant and who is perfectly happy being a stay-at-home mom. What he doesn’t want is a highly successful businesswoman, making a name for herself and climbing her way up the corporate latter. Laura loves her job. This last fight is the final breaking point for Laura. Their argument intensifies where it almost gets physical. The next day, Laura does the only thing she can do, files for divorce.

After years of marriage, Mason and Brenda’s marriage is also over. The two have had their issues, but what put the final nail in the coffin was catching his wife with another man.

Mason and Laura have work together for several years, and what started out as a coworker relationship, quickly flourished into a friendship. Sure they harmlessly flirt back and forth, stolen glances here and there, but they respect the boundaries of their professional relationship and have never crossed the line. Laura has a secret. She has always found Mason attractive, but is convinced it is a one-sided infatuation. Mason feels the same way. Having denied their feelings for far too long, and no reason for them to stop, they take the plunge.

I found the book slower than I like in the beginning but midway through it picked up and became full of drama and suspense that captured my attention forcing me to not put the book down till I finished. It is still sometimes hard for me to connect the first part of the story to the same characters at the end because the development of their personalities continued to evolve and grow throughout the whole book which in this case is a brilliant thing.
Laura is a very successful business woman who has worked her way to the top with her ethics and determination. She is married to Greg whose ambition seemed to die after their vows were taken. Now his main goal in life is to take her out of the business suit and keep her barefoot and pregnant at home. There is no way Laura is willing to be tied down and give up all she has worked for but even more there is no way she is having Greg’s child and be forever connected to him. After his temper at her refusal reaches the point that the police arrive she gains the courage to tell him it is over and kick him out.
Mason married his “high school sweetheart” and they raised twin sons. Now that the boys have moved out and started school his wife has decided to take her art career one step farther and move to NY to gain her success. When Mason finds out that she is doing more than creating art he divorces her and begins to rebuild his life as a single man. He throws himself into his successful career even more and interacts with Laura at the job.
Laura and Mason have an attraction with each other early but since they are bound in marriage to other people they put the brakes on their feelings. Once they are free to seek each other out, they begin to see happiness and they are HOT together.

When I read the book blurb I told myself to go into it with an open mind and I'm glad I did because despite it having Domestic violence in it, it was very well written. It was 4 1/2 stars for me.

Laura, has been married only 3 years to Greg who lately had become very possessive, jealous about her job and angry that Laura prefers her job over wanting to start a family with him. She loves her job and is not ready to have a family with Greg especially the way he's been acting lately so she tries to keep the peace and not argue back with him, well that seems to upset him even more. Well because of the way he's been she prefers to be at work than at home and that is where Mason comes in. He's worked with Laura for a while that they have a close work relationship but that has turned into something else on both of their part's and neither thinks the other one feels the same way. They have weekly work meetings that has drawn them closer and they notice each other more but neither is aware of what each one is going through in their personal home life.

Mason has been married to his college sweetheart and have teenage boys that have gone off to college and leaving him and his wife with a vacant house. His wife decides she wants to follow her dream of being an artist and moves to NY when offered an opportunity she couldn't pass. Mason being a sweet, loving and supporting husband encourages her instead of discouraging her... **SMALL SPOILER**Mason discovers his wife is not faithful and ultimately is divorcing her.

Laura and Mason decide to explore this feelings they have had for one another for a while and let me say that it is passionate and the sex oh my goodness it is HOT!!
