Dirty Minds Enter Here, Gladly,
By
This review is from: Hard Men (Paperback)
It's comforting to find a book that is precisely as advertised. The title is no play on words but refers to conditions of male homosexuality, sexual stories that go far from the usual playground of pick up bars in San Francisco. What we are pleased to become aroused to here are a group of men and their partners who are out-spokenly deviant. And good for them. And good for us, or at least our baser natures that now and again can use a good roughing up, much like the characters in this book.
Ever met a cop holding a kid as a slave? You will. Or perhaps your tastes are for bikers with a taste for each other. A lonely vampire? Two stories about him that interestingly bookend two sides of sexuality: Desire and Fulfillment of desire. Nor is there any subtlety to the sexual content. No stories of young men awakening to the new idea that there's something "different" about them. These guys know they're different and wouldn't have it any other way. There is absolute graphic sex. Period. No winking, leering, suggestive, implicative sex. Just down, and frequently dirty, sex. Just as it should be in a book that has as the majority of it's motive Sadism and Masochism. Califa has written of men who, depending on your taste, you'd like to know. For others, knowing of them is sufficient. But for all of us who read this, a genuine walk on the wildly different side by an author who is anxious to take us behind the usual and let us see what's REALLY going on. For some this will be an edifying experience, for others a primer on what they might want to consider doing next. You'll certainly have a broad selection from which to chose.

I obviously didn't read what the book was about. I thought this book was connected with the british crime film Hard Men. Imagine my surprise when the book arrived.
