Rock and Roll Bliss.,

This is what Rock and Roll was meant to be, raunchy guitars, driving bass and drums with a melodic twist, if you have never heard this band do yourself a favor and give this a listen.

This is one of my favorite AE music disks. I can't believe how many times my wife and I have listened to this on the way to the ski resort and back. The music is so good it is hard to believe this CD is so obscure. Do yourself a favor and get it. Guitar work is excellent, songwriting incredible, the number of tunes included unbelievable, and you get AE! This CD and the Buick MacKane have been on non-stop heavy rotation in the car for months and I still love this stuff.
There just is not much on the radio these days holding a candle to this music. If you like the Buick MacKane or other AE stuff, try to find this CD and buy it.

I'm left wondering, "What if?"....,

After hearing it I'm left wondering, what if the second album had gotten released? If they had gotten any airplay, would the songs "Home", "Please Don't Fade Away", "One Moment To Another", or "Only A Dream" made this band more popular? Would they have then stuck together to make more great music?
I have the debut album, which is O.K., but I find myself constantly fast-forwarding the CD to get to the previously unreleased second album. At times raucous, at times introspective, I find that album more to my liking. (Not that I hate the first one). It's a shame the second album never got released. Regardless, I am thankful that Rykodisc put this CD out. Anyone wondering if the CD is worth it, it is!

A great album by a great band whose alumni have gone on to bigger (and not always better) things.

Best Austin Band ever,

This review is from: Hard Road (Audio CD)
And honestly, one of the best bands ever to grace a stage anywhere. This double album is all that remains from the most nasty, in your face three guitar attack ever and it is a damn shame. To have seen the Believers, and I did almost 50 times, was to see raw music played hard and loud. They are the most missed band ever.
