4.0 out of 5 stars A good compiliation, but Rod Stewart?
What is Rod Stewart doing on this disc? He is definitely NOT, in my opinion, hard rock. Other than that, this is a great compiliation. It includes the underground classic House Of The Rising Sun by Frijid Pink. That version is blisteringly heavy. I enjoy the other songs on this very much. It's a little bit light for my tastes, but still very good. This series should...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Hard Rock, Even For The Seventies
There is nothing even remotely "Hard Rock" about this CD. Humble Pie's cut qualifies for the time period, but that's all. Embarassing for anyone down at "the plant" who was involved in this misnomer, to be sure. Truth in advertising? It apparently doesn't exist in America anymore. Buyer beware.

But only one thing, they should have replaced Rod Stewart with Dust's Suicide.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a Hard Rock fan, October 24, 1999

I bought this album a long time ago and played it again tonight to see which cd's my daughters may want. (They are visiting from out-of-state this week.) Except for a few songs like "House of the Rising Sun", "Nutrocker", "Lucky Man" and "Stumblin' In", I hated this album. The songs consist of nothing but screaming. I guess I'm just not a fan of this type of music.
