Four young men trying to make sense of themselves. I enjoy this one alot., June 27, 2008
This review is from: Hard Rock (Yaoi) (Paperback)
This mangaka's artwork is lovely and her 4 handsome young men, each a disinct and interesting character.
Shouri, Nozomu, Al, and Yumeji are 4 confused young men, which is common for their age. They form a part time rock band which has to dissolve after 3 years because there is no other alternative. Afterall they are at the age when everyting is uncertain and everything in lives seem to be dictated by their mood swings and worse still, not within their own control.
I thought the mercurial Shouri is the main character but it is not so. The other 3 characters are the ones who stand out as each has his own sad past or background. The "nice guy" and rich Nozomu seems to have it all but he is one lonely kid and being deeply in love with the punkish Al cetainly does not help. Al seems tough and independent but this sensitive young man has his own sad secrets. Yumeji, the most laid back of the lot, does not seem to care much but that is because he is still buried in memories of a lost love he refuses to let go. As for Shouri, he at least has a normal background though he is one sullen young man unable to express his feelings for one of the guys until it is just too late.
Romance is ofcourse the main focus as there is a love quadrangle here. How these 4 young men eventually pair up and find love is one very well told and enjoyable story. I like all 4 characters but my favorite is the sexy Al with his studded ears and tatoos. Hardly any sex scenes except in the bonus story years later but I do not miss it as I enjoy all 4 characters' interaction as they find their way in life and each other.

it's a good read but..., July 14, 2009
This review is from: Hard Rock (Yaoi) (Paperback)
there are some misspelling but if you reading something from june manga you run the risk of that happening.like I said it's a good book but it may bore some cause it's very vanilla(no sex scenes what so ever) which given the title you think it would have at least one and there are some of cut off al well.so if you a risk taker I would say get it.
