I just ran into this recording on a blues internet radio station. I have a best hits album from his earlier years but this isn't on it. It should be. In addition to his impassioned singing and very adroit piano playing, this song has a horn arrangement. I'm not sure of the exact recording date but it was sometime in the '50's. I'm no expert but it sure sounds ahead of its time. This tune has none of the swagger of "Wha'd I Say"--instead, there's a world-weariness that come through in the words from someone who knows that territory. Even waaay back then, Ray Charles was a "genius", as he's often been called. A total original!

BTW, hearing this original sure makes Eric Clapton's cover version look pale--EC basically used the same arrangement and just added a guitar solo.
