It's hard to believe that Tim could have produced such a great album way back in 1984. I have most of his stuff since, which I love, but he still hasn't topped this early effort. He ranges from country to blues to bluegrass to jazz. The Whites and his Hot Rize friends contribute. Amazing musicianship.

This album has allowed me to survive many trips accross country. The title track is high-speed, ripe with both a lovable melody and a great set of lyrics. I love singing along when no one is around.
"Cora Is Gone" is a standard which resonates. The albmum is simple yet full like the best of the bluegrass.

I believe this is Tim's 2nd solo recording
(the first was a long out of print LP called "Guess Who's in Town") The songs and instrumentals here are a wide variety of roots musics, and showcase his many talents. It moves from country to gospel to celtic to jazz to bluegrass, but is cohesive and nicely paced. Obviously a 'labor of love'--every single track is outstanding. This is my favorite Tim O'Brien CD.
