5.0 out of 5 stars Hitman gives an in-your-face look at real men together.
Every once in a while a writer comes along who paints a picture with his words, draws you into a story so real that you become part of it, and takes you for a ride that leaves you breathless, but smiling. 3.0 out of 5 stars HARDBALL is as erotic as it is crude
Tom T. Hitman's HARDBALL is uproariously campy as it is crude and salacious. Every once in a while a writer comes along who paints a picture with his words, draws you into a story so real that you become part of it, and takes you for a ride that leaves you breathless, but smiling. T. Hitman is an author of that caliber. He weaves together encounters between real men, all-American jocks whose relationships form the basis of his sports novel, HARDBALL.

Hitman's writing adds more than color and texture to the page. With amazing attention to detail, he wakes up the senses and invites the reader to enter into each scene he's creating. Lost in a bare chested embrace with a young rookie fresh off the field, we become intoxicated from the smells, stimulated by the sights and warmed with the heat of men being men together. We meet athletes who push themselves to the limit on the field, only to discover their greatest release comes with a buddy at the end of the day in a no-excuses-needed display of masculine affection. This is raw, sweaty, in-your-face action between guys who are just being guys. No runway models here; these boys are natural men who are at home with locker room smells and heavy duty workouts--alone and with each other.

The quality of HARDBALL sets T. Hitman apart from other writers of men's fiction. This is no one-dimensional story, but rather a dynamic look what happens when the chemistry of a team is just right. Let Hitman take you through a season with the Top Socks and provide you with a story that you will savor for a long time. I wholeheartedly recommend HARDBALL!

5.0 out of 5 stars HOT HOT HOT!, February 17, 2000

This review is from: Hardball: An Erotic Novel (Paperback)
As a fan of T. Hitman's stories in the magazines MEN, FRESHMEN, TORSO, DUDE, and others, I was looking forward to reading his first novel -- but this really blew my socks off. This book is all about baseball and the men that play it. They weren't kidding when they called this an erotic novel. It's also a really smart one. Great story. Cliff hangers. Hot man sex. I've read really good reviews of this book, and have to agree. A must for fans of baseball and baseball players.

I made only one mistake when I read this book, I read part of it on a New York subway and let's just say that my raised discomfort made a short trip really hard. I suggest you buy the book but do your self the favor and read it at home and hopefully not alone.

5.0 out of 5 stars HITS AND RUNS AND OUTS, OH MY!!, September 6, 2000
This review is from: Hardball: An Erotic Novel (Paperback)
The reader reviews on this one got me going even more than the cover art did. If your into jocks, daddies or locker room action this is the book you've been looking for. The sex is hot, hot, hot. The story is easy to get through, (lets face it, we bought it for the sex), and the plot is reasonable. I can't wait for Hitman's next one. I hope it cummin' very soon!!!

This review is from: Hardball: An Erotic Novel (Paperback)
If I would have known that playing ball was so erotic I wouldn't have hid out in the locker room in high school. This is one hot book. Never have I wanted to play more with the team! This novel oozes with all kinds of wetness, sweat--all delicious things!

5.0 out of 5 stars Play ball!, November 7, 2003
This review is from: Hardball: An Erotic Novel (Paperback)
One of the hottest erotic novels I ever read. This one is filled with hot sex between baseball players that never fails to get you sweaty. The center of the story revolves around the growing love between veteran Tommy Bruno and the rookie, Tim Weare. Their love grows and they find the true meaning of team spirit together. If you love the boys of summer--you'll love this one!

3.0 out of 5 stars HARDBALL is as erotic as it is crude, September 22, 2001

Tom T. Hitman's HARDBALL is uproariously campy as it is crude and salacious. The book's protagonist, Tommy Bruno from the Seaside Top Socks baseball club is suffering from a mid-life crisis with a wrecked marriage. Soon after, he meets a gorgeous rookie Tim Weare who is inexorably attracted to Bruno's primal urges - and there after, the club becomes a menagerie of feral sex from the top management to the players, and even to the errand boy Ricky Catalano.

HARDBALL is no-holds barred, high voltage sexual read right from the start where Bruno explores and relieves himself to the enticing voyeur Ricky. The manager Mitch has a penchance for S&M with the players and there is a romp of behind the lockers scene. In the midst of such debauchery, HARDBALL could have been so much more if not for the lack of redemption in the characters. The repugnance of copulation with rape intent, the infidelity in the characters make such a dispassionate read. Even right up to the end, the immaturity shows when Tim and Bruno gangs up to embarrass the rival player, Jette by picturing him performing fellatio on them.

As such, the raunchy entertainment offered by HARDBALL languishes into a crude sex read no doubt the enticing premises it offers to stimulate.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hot book, but lacks depth, and is kind of disgusting, March 15, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Hardball: An Erotic Novel (Paperback)
What we basically have in this book is an almost completely gay baseball team. There is very little plot in this book, just this bunch of guys who partner swap all the time and have a few threesomes. Don't get me wrong--the sex is very very hot. However, there are some scenes in this book that just totally disgusted me... In the era of AIDS, the fact that there is absolutely no mention of protection/safe sex in this book is a gross irresponsibility on the part of the author. The characters are not well developed. The other part of this book that I really did not like was that there are several rape scenes and for me that was not sexually arousing--it is a huge turn off. Sexually assaulting/raping someone is a felony and is not something that should be condoned under any circumstances. Despite all the things that I did not like about this book, overall I did like the book because it was really really hot with very descriptive sex scenes, and the characters were likable even though they were not given any depth of character.

4.0 out of 5 stars HOT HOT HOT, May 20, 2006

This review is from: Hardball: An Erotic Novel (Paperback)
I could not put this book down. As a matter of fact i'm on this site to see if T. Hitman has writtin anything else. The setting of a baseball team where men or men was a great idea. Some of the men have never had gay sex before and actually most start off straight, and they all find out about HOT gay sex. Of couse the sex is hot, but their really really is a really good story behind it all. The sex is explained in such detail, you feel like you're in the room watching.

You also cheer the hero's on.

Great Read, for what it is, an Gay Erotic novel.
