A.J. says:
As another Amazon user pointed out, "The hardcover version (Revised August 15, 1958) is 1368 pages and measures 9.4 x 6.4 x 2.1 inches. The paperback (revised 1986) has 376 pages and measures 8.9 x 6.4 x 2.2 inches. Can this be right, or is the paperback abridged?"

Anybody out there have an answer?

Wray Mould says:
I have both. They are the same book. My paperback copy was much the worse for wear, so I invested in the hardback. Much more durable.
