Stumbled on Jack Savoretti while watching an episode of One Tree Hill and was floored by the song they featured. CW is always known for finding amazing new artists for their show, but this one blew many out of the water. I am so happy with this cd. I can listen through it in its entirety, enjoying every song. His voice hitting every emotional indentation and with such honesty, it draws me into a bliss every time. I also find myself closely listening to every line of the lyric through his crisp and clearness of his voice, and the lyrics do not dissappoint at all. They are so poetic, deep and impacting. I have to say this is by far one of my favorite cd's in the last 5 years. I highly recommend this album to all you music lovers out there!

When I discovered mister Savoretti a while ago I ordered both of his albums in an impulse, after having only heard the song Dreamers from his debut album Between The Minds.
Never did acting out of impulse make me this happy. Jack Savoretti is a unique, incredibly talented musician. Anyone with such a masterpiece to his name as Jack's debut Between The Minds, would probably have a hard time coming up with a strong follow up. It seems as if Jack did not have a hard time at all. Harder Than Easy sounds as if it was an easy job for him to do. The first song Map of the World makes it very clear this isn't Between The Minds part II. Thank God it's not, real artists grow and move on and so did Jack. Lost America is a beautiful song with it's brilliant 'Let us pray for L.A., Lost America' lyrics. So is Mother, with lyrics that actually made me shiver. Standout track on this album is Russion Roulette which was already as an unplugged bonus track on the Deluxe Edition of Between The Minds. And what about the Nick Drake cover Northern Sky. Drake must be feeling proud up there in heaven for Jack's beautiful version of one of his best songs! Patriot closes the album and makes me wish Jack would do more songs like this on his third album. Like on BTM, there isn't a weak song on this cd. Jack is a true musician who puts his heart and soul into his music and wants nothing but the best for his audience. If you consider yourself to be a true music lover, Jack Savoretti needs to be in your collection. So get Harder Than Easy and spread the word, it'll make you feel like a better person!

Harder than Easy - but not for Jack . . .,

This is a clever, well-crafted album of emotive and appealing songs which warrants a more in-depth listening than your usual, run of the mill, male singer-songwriter offering. This is not to say the songs are too clever or over complicated - they're not. What they do have is a darker, more thoughtful edge than a lot of the more easily accessible stuff around today. Perhaps though, Jack's voice is the real star. It's whisky deep and velvet gravel - mournful and soulful all at once. This collection is great, so buy it, and his other album, 'Between the Minds' is even better.
