wicked trance from moontribes very own DJ Brian,
By trance-a-holik (wash DC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hardesertrance 2 (Audio CD)
The record begins with a nice steady beat that soon becomes the backbone to the entire first track. Pounding away until it gets into to your head, slowly mimicking your heart beat. Once this is established the trance really begins to take off. Surreal sounds and effects continue in this superb mix that grows harder and louder in every track only to reach a peak that explodes beautifully giving you that great feeling of reaching the state of ecstasy. Track 4 is the best example. Great music to chill out to but this is best played extremely loud. The only bad thing about this album is that when it ends, you only want more. You cannot go wrong with this cd, or any of the 3 Hardesertrance albums. Dj Brian is a trance god.

The first hard trance album I owned,

This was the first hard trance album I ever owned, and it got me hooked on this awesome style of music. The album just gets going without any kind of build-up, and keeps going for a solid 74 minutes. By far the best tracks are "India - E. Razor" (track 6) and "Red - Sandra Collins" (track 7).If you want to get a great intro to hard trance, this is it!

A 'Trance' DJ that has proved his worth.,
This review is from: Hardesertrance 2 (Audio CD)
I initially purchased this CD simply because of the first CD in the series. This is the second release in the "Hard Desert Trance" series for DJ Brian. It is a perfect bridge between the first and the third. Look into the third if you get a chance, it is outstanding. DJ Brian has an uncanny knack for selecting the best trace tracks for his compilations. If you are not familiar with this series than you may need a little background first. Now I am by no means a professional music reviewer. This information is original and simply reported to the best of my knowledge. `Trance' music evolved from Techno music in the early nineties. I am fairly certain that it sprung out of the rave scene. Since its creation it has dominated many DJ mixed CDs out on the market. In the last couple of years it has splintered off into many types and flavors. There are now several different major forms of `Trance.' `Trance' music is, by its very definition, repetitive. So don't get the idea that there is a lot of vocals from which you can `sing-a-long.' That is very rarely the case. `Trance' seems to have a lot of DJ work in it. This means that whomever is mixing all of the tracks together is responsible for much of what you hear. Much of the Mixing is done `on the fly' so you can be guaranteed that what you hear on the CD is probably what you are going to hear from the same DJ on the Dance floor. It takes a keen sense of sound to mix music together flawlessly and effectively. With that in mind, when I site specific tracks that I like on the CD I rate them on the blending, the effects and the continuity with the rest of the CD. On this CD the best tracks are #12) Amoeba Assassin - Rollercoaster; a great track that is slightly leaning toward House Techno, #3) LSG - Train of thought; an instant classic by one of the founders of trance, and #6) E. Razor - India; one of the best hybrids of acoustical and electronic music I have ever heard. Or at least these are the ones I liked best. If you're into `Trance' than I would recommend this CD to you. If you are undecided weather or not `Trance' is for you than you should go to a store where you can listen to the whole CD. I don't believe that you can truly get a feel for it, or any trance CD for that matter, from a few thirty-second samples. Figure out for yourself if I am right or not. No reason you should just take my word for it. :)
