"Hardly Working" isn't just for guys...,

This review is from: Hardly Working at Relationships: The Overachieving Underperformer's Guide to Living Like You're Single When You're Not (Paperback)
With chapter titles like "Massacring Valentine's Day" and "The New Food Pyramid: Using Fad Diets to your Advantage" and the special sections entitled "Chick Tricks," author Chris Bishop is clearly offering his dating "advice" with his tongue firmly planted in his cheek. Unlike some other books, this one doesn't pretend to be giving actual advice in how to behave in a relationship. Still, you'll probably recognize yourself and your friends in several of the scenarios. Which is what makes it so funny. While targeted to guys, it's a fun read for women as well. Of course, while we females will just nod our heads and chuckle at Bishop's suggestions, I'm sure a few guys will actually try and put them into practice. And honestly, a few of them would actually work (but I won't tell you which ones)!
All in all, the book's humorous "advice" to men in how to put minimal effort into a relationship for maximum benefit is an enjoyable read for anyone. And maybe the fact that it's a book both partners in a relationship can laugh over makes it a better "relationship" book than one that tries to tell you what to do. |
