4.0 out of 5 stars Comedy God
Hardly Working was one Jerry Lewis movie no one ever heard of. I enjoyed the comedy that only he could do. The story was not much but seeing Lewis screw up every job he had was good. Being one of his later movies Jerry Lewis still shows he can make anyone laugh.

1.0 out of 5 stars Makes Springtime for Hitler look like Citizen Kane.
Everything about this movie was so much worse than just horrible that I couldn't turn away. From the cheesily generic 70's TV music and titles to the blatantly stupid and unfunny "gags" to Jerry's immovable pinky ring, this could have only been made on a bet to see if the laziest, sloppiest, most amateurish and plain unfunniest movie in history could be made, released and...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Original Jerk, September 17, 2005
This review is from: Hardly Working [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is my favorite Jerry Lewis movie.I love the scenes where he's an Japanese cook, and he laughs like one.I also love the Tabletop dancing scene, where he grabs this woman's legs and says,Oh I like that! I also like When Mr.Loucaki's daughter asked him for a drink, he said a beer, and this Budweiser truck comes up with a team of horses, and the Budweiser theme plays in the background, while this man throws a case of Budweiser to Bo.

Scientology has nothing on this. And Lewis thinking that simply knocking things over and making goofy faces convinces me he was never really funny at all, but just came up in a time when people were starved for anything. Milton Berle had similar luck. I guess people could only watch quality stuff like the Marx Brothers and Preston Sturges so many times before any crap seemed like a needed break. Holy dung!

This movie is so funny. I like it when Jerry Lewis grabs the sexy dancers legs which is a wonderful scene to watch. If Jerry Lewis can do something like that, then why not have Steve Carell or Jim Carrey play Jerry Lewis's part in the remake I would suggest.

This review is from: Hardly Working [VHS] (VHS Tape)
AFTER LOOKING ON LINE AND FINALLY FINDING THE MOVIE "HARDLY WORKING" BY JERRY LEWIS. MY QUESTION IS?? WHY IS THIS MOVIE SO HIGH IN PRICE... WHEN IT IS A V.H.S. MOVIE? I KNOW IT IS HARD TO FIND , BUT WHY CAN SOMEONE CHARGE SO MUCH FOR A VHS MOVIE? I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS MOVIE OUT ON DVD, AND I WOULD BUY IT, BUT IT WOULD HAVE TO BE REASONABLY PRICED!!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of Jerry's best movies in his later years!, March 26, 2007
This review is from: Hardly Working [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I admired Jerry's movies from the Paramount years from 1957 to 1965 and this movie from 1980 (not produced by Paramount) shows Jerry in his outrageous best! The misadventures of an unemployed clown seeking work from gas station attendant to the post office is FUNNY! Give it a look for yourself!!
