Better than the Previous Edition,

Even with substantial improvements over the previous edition, this is one of the few ASM publications that does not live up to expectations. While the very basics of hardness testing are covered, the book addresses testing from a manufacturing/production/quality control perspectve, and does not focus adequately on the test as mechanical property evaluation. Hopefully one more iteration of this text will put it at the class of reference book we have come to expect from ASM.
