Ten times better than what I was expecting...,
By "ghiddyz2" (akron, ohio) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Hardy Boyz: Exist 2 Inspire (Hardcover)
I was expecting a WWE/WWF fluff piece similar to most WWE-published biographies and books that I've read before, sprinkled with some stories, supposedly written by the superstars themselves but we all just KNOW the ghostwriter wrote most of it himself and liberally changed the facts as needed.I was totally wrong here. This book is fantastic. It pulls NO punches with anything, as the brothers are refreshingly honest throughout the entire book. It's obvious that whomever helped the brothers write this took a backseat and just recorded what Matt and Jeff had to say, and the result is an extremely interesting look at the wrestling business and how two fans managed to make it big in the business. I was also SHOCKED at how honest they were with everything. From being critical of their fellow wrestlers, to each other and their friends...the boys pulled zero punches here. The result is, in my opinion, the best book the WWF/WWE has had published since Mick Foley's two biographical books. If you're a wrestling fan, you definetly want this. Non wrestling fans might not be as into this book as they may have been upon giving Foley's books a try, which is my only real criticism of the book itself, but then again the market is so saturated with wrestling biographies as opposed to when Have a Nice Day came out that one really cannot knock the book for this. But for wrestling fans, marks and smart marks alike, this is a wonderful book. For wrestling fans - my highest recommendation!

One of the best I have ever read,
By Johnnie Roberts (Spring , Tx USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Hardy Boyz: Exist 2 Inspire (Hardcover)
I have made it a goal in my life to actually read as many wrestling biographies as there are. No matter who it is or what its about. I choose to read them even if Im not a fan of the wrestler. Well Im not a big fan of the Hardy Boy Characters but I am a huge fan of what they can do. They can bring a unique style of wrestling to the ring and this is definently a good book. When I picked up this book I couldnt put it down. I honestly read it in 2 days it was so good. Mind you I only had to put it down to watch wrestling and go to school. Other than that I was reading this book and it was one of the most interesting things I have ever read. The book details on how the Hardys grew up and how they started with there own little promotion. It tells about the good times and the bad times. I love the aspect of the book on how instead of being one long read its more of a script. You get to hear the story from both Matt and Jeff's thoughts and its interesting to see where they agree and where they dont. I insist to everyone out there who is a wrestling fan that they need to pick this book up. Trust me you wont be dissapointed.

Awsome Book,
By Greg (Staten Island, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Hardy Boyz: Exist 2 Inspire (Hardcover)
This was probably the best wrestling book since Mick "Mankind" Foley's books came out. This not typical WWE thick and through like the last few books. This book did not dissapoint at all.I never realized all that Matt & Jeff went through to become WWE superstars. They were totally honest from relationships out of the ring to Jeff losing his passions/becoming burnt out of the wrestling book. Both Hardy's have become 2 of my favorite wrestlers after reading this. If you are thinking of purchasing a wrestling book I would suggest this one. I originally got this for my sister since she loves the Hardy's especially Jeff but I ended finishing another book and just wanted to read a few pages and I wound up reading this book in 2 days.

As other readers already mentioned - this book is a definite must for any Hardy Boyz Fan. But even if you are not a wrestling fan yet, you should pick up this book. Apart from being very inspiring and proving that one "only" needs to go after their dreams to make them reality, it allows a very refreshing, entertaining and sometimes amusing look behind the scenes of professional wrestling. I am positive this book will be an incentive for many not-yet wrestling fans to see for themselves what all the buzz is about. While The Rock's book did just that for me about 3 years ago it was the likes of Matt and Jeff Hardy, Shane Helms and Shannon Moore who kept me watching every week and causing me to want to look behind the scenes, trying to find credible accounts like this autobiography. The book is written in conservational style and even though with the help of a ghostwriter - Matt and Jeff might just as well have jotted it down themselves (- if they had the time, that is)! I have been very fortunate to meet the guys on a couple of occasions, and reading this book is just like having a conversation with them. You can see that they are two "regular" North Carolina boyz who have not let success get to their heads (even if "Mattitude" would like you to believe otherwise)! I hope they both know how their humble and gracious attitude towards their fans - and life in general - is appreciated! Like Matt, I believe "what goes around comes around" - which will provide the boyz with a lifetime of well deserved good fortune!

AWESOME BOOK!!,
By Jenn (Rochester, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Hardy Boyz: Exist 2 Inspire (Hardcover)
To sum this book up in one word, i'd say it was REAL. They went WAY behind the scenes, probably a lot more than The Rock and Kurt angle did in their books. i havent read The king's, hogan's, or mick foley's but i do know that the hardyz were up front about everything. there was no bullcrap in this book. They revealed themselves to the world, cleared up a lot of rumors and speculations. It was full of great stories from when they were younger to the indies and to the WWE and told their great story on how they made it. i thought the format was great and they went into detail about a lot of things and just opened up a whole new side to them. After reading this, you'll look at Matt and Jeff in a whole new light. you'll probably finish readng it with either a new found or even more respect for them. it's a great book, i liked it more than rock, Angle and chyna's books and all 3 were really good as well. Keep rockin boys...maybe this'll be NY's best seller as well?!?

I read this book as soon as it came out, and things in the career of the Hardy Boyz has changed a lot since then. However, this book was fabulous. I loved learning more about them, their matches, their family and their career. I think it's a great book and any wrestling fan needs to read this. Even if you aren't a wrestling fan this book might turn you onto wrestling.

Amazingly better than I hoped!,
This review is from: The Hardy Boyz: Exist 2 Inspire (Hardcover)
I read this right after reading Jerry Lawler's very dissapointing biography, so to be honest i wasn't expecting a whole lot. What i got was frank, interesting and totally honest account of their careers up to now. They had more interesting anecdotes about life behind the scenes and life on the road in their 7 years careers than Lawler managed to come up with after 30 years in the business! At first glance the style of the book looked like it could be annoying (in interview style with comments from them both) but it turned out to highly informative, getting their often different opinions on matches and events in their lives. Their were never less than frank, and did not need to descend to the butt kissing that Lawler did for the McMahons. Kudos to them and to WWE for allowing their opionions to be published uncensored. In short, a great, fast read, packed with great stories and fascinating opinions from both brothers. WELL DONE!

Well Worth The Read,
This review is from: The Hardy Boyz: Exist 2 Inspire (Hardcover)
Has there ever been a WWE tag team that has gathered such a strong support base like the Hardyz. So many wrestlers have commented on the most interesting and inspiring road to the WWE saying the Hardyz road is among the best. Growing up in a small town in North Carolina, the Hardyz became intrigued by wrestling and were willng to do whatever it took to make it to the WWE. They created a ring out of hoses, chairs and a trampoline and trained themselves to become two of the greatest WWE stars ever. So many WWE stars did not follow wrestling at a young age but Jeff and Matt were followers for as long as they can remember. Training themself Matt and Jeff along with friends from North Carolina created there own independent federation refered to as OMEGA. OMEGA did not take long to get recognise wrestlers that would later become WWE stars like Amy Dumas (Lita), Shane Helms (Hurricane) and Shannon Moore all participated in OMEGA shows. The Hardyz became some of the youngest WWE stars to ever sign with the WWE. Exist 2 Inspire shows the journey of the Hardy Boyz, Jeff and Matt certainly did not hold back when writing Exist 2 Inspire it goes in depth to show two superstars amazing and inspiring road to the WWE. Well worth a read if you ask me.

WELL WORTH THE 265 PAGES,
By MICHAEL TAYLOR "SNAKEFIST2" (RICHMOND, VA USA) - See all my reviews

THIS BOOK EXPLORES THE LIFE OF THE HARDY BOYZ, WHO ENJOYED SUCCESS IN THE WWE AS 6-TIME WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS AND SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIPS. I LOVED HOW THE BOOK ACTUALLY TOLD ME SOME THINGS ABOUT THE HARDYS' PAST THAT I DIDN'T KNOW. LIKE, HOW THEY STRUGGLED IN THE WWE SINCE 1994 AND HOW THEY FORMED THEIR OWN WRESTLING COMPANY, CALLED THE TWF. THIS IS A GOOD BOOK. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECCOMEND THIS BOOK FOR ANY PERSON OUT THERE THAT'S THINKING ABOUT GETTING INTO THE WRESTLING BUSINESS. TOO BAD THAT JEFF HARDY IS NO LONGER WITH THE WWE.

What can I say? Great, great, great book! I may be a little bias in that I love the Hardyz and that it's my first wwe biography but still, it's top notch! They go through their childhood, teens, getting started in wrestling, putting on shows, beatin up kids that wanted to be in their ring lol. Seriously, it's a great read! I did notice one discrepancy in this book against "The Stone Cold Truth" by Steve Williams (Stone Cold Steve Austin). Matt Hardy (or Jeff, but I think it's Matt) claims to have been Austin's jobber for his debut match in wwe while "TSCT" states it was infact Scotty 2 Hotty. That's the only thing I found out to be wrong. But hey, one little thing. Overall this was a great book! I'm Inspired! |
