Harem is a interesting film about a New York Stockbroker, sexy Nastassja who is kidnapped by a wealthy Arab, and taken back to the exotic East where "Diane" is to be a love slave to the wealthy, older, "Selim" At first, Diane rejects his advances, until he lets her drive his Ferrari, at which time, at a Hotel, she changes her mind and gives in to his erotic desires. But we the voyeristic viewers get to see precious little of their sexual escapades, save for a couple of very quick passionate kisses. Why the director chose to cut to a scene of a waiter doing calestenics by the pool as Selim is about to take Diane sexually is beyond me. Especially in an "R" rated foreign film with a Harem theme. Even as disapointing as this is, the two characters share much chemistry, and a 24 year old Nastassja is a sight to behold in her Harem attire. It seems somewhere out there are the real love scenes that were filmed for this potentially incredibly erotic film. Lets hope that the DVD version offers the true "uncut" version.
