I received this as a gift from my husband. It is a beautiful looking tea maker. Actually, we use it a couple of times a year for hot/warm sake when I prepare an Asian dinner. However, most of the instructions and illustrations in the tiny pamphlet that it comes with only instruct in Chinese or Japanese. I had to call the company to find out how to actually use it. It did not mention that it was unsuitable for using on a burner, gas or electric. Once again it is very impressive looking, we will use it for sake but probably impractical for tea. Such a shame. Also, you have to remove the lid and turn the pot upside down and press between the silver legs in order to remove the glass portion for thorough cleaning. They advise you use gloves - yikes! It is a tight fit and therefore rather scary to put that pressure over the glass. Think lacerations with or without gloves. I wear gloves. I think they need to go back to the drawing board on this one. Nice concept, not too practical.
