A great accessory for my morning cup of coffee.

The size is just over 8dl, which is perfect for one pot of tea, or 3-4 mugs of coffee, depending on the size of your mug.

This is a high quality kettle by the look and feel of it.

I got this after using the standard (non-electric) Hario Buono kettle for some time. I loved that model but the electric one hat noticeably less capacity. .8 liter instead of 1.0 liter. This makes a difference when you want to heat water for two 16 oz travel mugs. With the electric model you come up about 6 oz. short.

The other thing a little disappointing was the length of time it takes to boil a full pot of water. I was under the impression, from other electric kettles I have used, that they are always faster than boiling on a stovetop. That is not the case with this one. It takes just as long if not a little longer. Boiling a filled pot took 6 1/2 minutes.

I agree with another reviewer that the light placement was a poor design. It could have been placed just beneath the handle so no matter which way you set the pot you can see it. I'm left-handed too, but if not for the first two complaints, I could have lived with it. Instead I chose to return it after about 3 weeks. The smaller capacity was the real deal-breaker.

The other trivial thing maybe worth noting is that the lids between the electric and standard versions are not interchangeable. The electric one is smaller, for what it's worth.

I have looked at over 100 electric kettles over the last year. ALL of them have plastic which comes into contact with the hot water, or are designed poorly (prone to burning you, etc).

This kettle has a single plastic semi-cover for the spout exhaust, but it is EASILY REMOVED and completely unnecessary. If you choose to leave it on, it does not come in contact with the heated water. That makes this Kettle the otherwise legendary Unicorn kettle and I am very happy with it.

The kettle automatically turns off when the water is boiling. The cord coils neatly around a spool underneath the dock, so it takes up very little room and looks nice on the counter. Overall, the kettle is not very large. It's a nice thing, but it's definitely overpriced so only buy it if you wont regret spending the dollars.

The handle is far enough away from the hot metal that even a faint sense of grace is enough to avoid burns. The pour is predictable, steady, and precise to the last drop. The kettle heats a single mug's worth of water in 2 minutes flat (I timed it).

A++ would recommend this product to a friend.

I have a non-heated version of this kettle for home use (this was for my office). This very heats water to boiling very quickly.

The spout design ensures precise control over the flow.

I don't get a plastic taste mentioned in other reviews.

If you only want enough water for a cup or two, this little kettle is great. And it's perfect for making an individual drip cup of coffee with it's long spout. It takes up just a little space on the counter, is simple to operate, and looks good. Absolutely no complaints.

I really enjoy this kettle because it is simple and well-made. It is big enough to use with my Ingenuitea tea maker and I use it to brew two 12 oz coffees. Some customers were concerned with the size, but it is not an issue for me. If I need more I boil another batch, it boils so quickly. Overall I am very pleased with this and highly recommend it.

I use this at work where there's no stove. It boils very quickly (surprisingly), and re-boils by temperature, so in case you leave it to cool a bit too much, you can always re-boil to achive your 195F mark again.

It holds enough volume for 450mL of coffee. So not enough for a "4 cup" coffee for two persons. But I use this for myself mainly.

Much faster than my non-electric one. I've left water in there over days by mistake and no rust.

Just arrived, and is immediately being returned. This product represents itself as being made in Japan, and apparently the manufacturer has sadly begun having it made in China. I specifically wanted a product that was not made in China due to the recent history the past few years of substandard workmanship and materials. I want to ensure that any food-related products, especially, are safe.

This pot really is the gold standard for making pour over coffee. It's got one big deficit, however. The heating element gives off an odor similar to burning plastic. I don't think anything is actually burning and the coffee tastes fine but this odor is unpleasant. Also, it should be a litre in size.
