3.0 out of 5 stars URBAN
Harlem Heat is a fast-paced action story filled with plenty of drama. Dysfunctional daughter and mother Chyna and Roxy kept me wondering what would happen next. Very quick read, ending was abrupt.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cold Blooded Diva's, July 17, 2007
This review is from: Harlem Heat (Paperback)
Those were the first words the newscaster uttered as what appeared to be Roxy and Chyna's faces flashed across the screen during the six o'clock news.

In Harlem Heat, Mark Anthony brings you a gritty story about a mother and daughter who are fighting against the world and each other. Chyna, the twenty something year old stripper that moon lights at a strip club, and is hooked on Lorenzo, the father of her infant baby. Then there's Roxy, Chyna's mother who's dick-matized by a past love and allows him to ruin everything they've worked for: making Harlem Heat, Chyna and Roxy's gun trading business, succesful. Word has it that Roxy's man, Panama Pete, is a snitch but she's not trying to hear it even though all of the evidence makes it clear. Not even from Chyna. But when they are robbed at gun point in their own home, and Pete conviniently leaves every thing goes down hill from there. All that's left is to get that money back up so that they can continue to handle business, but will it be that easy?

Mark has definitely brought the heat with this hot addition to the G-Unit book series, and you will not be disappointed if you enjoy a fast paced read that you can't put down until the very end.

Chyna and her mom gets robbed for 50,000 and Chyna knowns that Panama had something to do with that happening but, Roxy her mom don't want to believe that.

In order for them to get the mom back Roxy decided to rob banks because they was going to get in trouble by the people that money they have for guns.

Now while robbing banks Roxy shoot a police officer that pulled them over so then then become on the run.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Heat was on in Harlem..., August 24, 2007
This review is from: Harlem Heat (Paperback)
Roxy and her pole-dancing daughter, Chyna, are a team, and they run a relatively lucrative gun trade hustle. When a male friend from Roxy's past returns from prison, the business takes a turn for the worst. Roxy and Chyna's funds run dry, so Roxy develops a master plan to replenish their cash flow. After the plan is carried out, their lives will never be the same.

Although this book wasn't the best I've read, it did keep me reading and wondering just what would happen next. The ending was very abrupt and vague, and left a lot of unanswered questions.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ignorant Women, June 18, 2010
By
This review is from: Harlem Heat (Paperback)
The book was a quick read about two ignorant women that were supposed to be a hard core, Bonnie and Clyde team of mother/daughter gun runners, yet the daughter was still stripping, the mother couldnt keep her mouth shut about her business and they were both strung out over two broke dudes. WOW, are you serious? And please explain to me, how as a gun running woman you are being ROBBED and dont have a piece on you. POOR READ....nothing made sense....ignorant women trying to be in the game...sad thing is, I really think the author was trying to portray them as intelligent.....if the author tried to score a one two punch on this one, he was knocked out in the first round.....regroup and try againHarlem HeatHarlem Heat
