Product Description

54th Annual Grammy Awards Finalist as Best Reggae Album. The rarefied and infectiously joyous mood that
pervaded Dizzy s Club during Monty Alexander s sold-out run at Jazz at
Lincoln Center in July 2010 is brilliantly captured in on this reggae-jazz
fusion disc. Harlem Kingston Express finds the Jamaican jazz legend in
rare form rockin it simultaneously with his jazz quartet and a powerhouse
reggae posse in New York City with additional tracks from dates in Jamaica
and Europe. A live and powerful follow up to Stir It Up, Alexanders
lauded Bob Marley Tribute.

Review

Monty Alexander presented his refined concept of groove with
the recent Harlem-Kingston Express project, blending a jazz trio
and a steaming reggae unit, weaving back and forth between the
idioms with orchestral finesse. --DownBeat

Alexander himself is in excellent form, carefully walking the
tightrope that bridges jazz improvisation and the rhythmic riffs of
reggae. --All About Jazz

Excellent fusion of jazz and reggae. Top shelf players cookin deep in some nasty grooves. Reggae drummers need this album, especially track three.

I think the title of this album reveals the intent, which was to link American music culture with the music from his roots.

Marley on a swanky, warm jazz high. Superb stuff by Monty Alexander and his tight band: most enjoyable. Highly recommended!
