Read it,
By Greg (CALIFORNIA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Harlequin (Hardcover)
Even the most obscure books at Amazon have a revue, however, Harlequin does not. I found it in a box in my home, in the garage, full of books from my grandma -- to be discarded. I love the book. The synopsis' of the book make it sound very lame and cheesy, but it is very good, and if anyone ever chances upon Harlequin: read it. The publishers should reprint it, so Amazon can sell it. One day i am going to make it a motion picture.

Unbelievable, but same as Greg (who is the other who wrote a review, and he read it in the same month), I found this book in a corner of my father's in law house, I read it and it was a wonderful reading, it was printed in 1974 and is a very good book, if you see it at your parents house just read it, you will enjoy it.

Classic Morris West,
By Van Goghn "Vincent" (Provence, France) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Harlequin (Mass Market Paperback)
This was a re-read. I am a big fan of Morris West, but had forgotten the story in this work. It sat on a shelf at this B&B just tempting me to get re-acquainted. After 25 or 30 years I am reading this masterful word-crafter and story weaver, and I find myself amazed at the prophetic framing of our world today. The descriptions of the world financial realm, the government deceptions and double-dealings, the enrichment of the few, the collateral suffering so acceptable by all... Morris West is one of the greats at using the English language as it should be used; to delve deep into our souls, to dredge up our consciences, to make us look at ourselves and our relationships with all mankind. This is an excellent, entertaining, and all the while, thought-provoking book that you will finish swiftly -- long before you are ready for it to be over.. |
