This review is from: The Fiancee Charade (Harlequin Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
The Fiancee Charade by Darcy Maguire Harlequin Romance # 3850 - June 2005 Jess and her partner, Kath, worked very hard to succeed in the cut throat competition of the advertising world. Their biggest rival was Alex's firm .. the firm that had eaten up and destroyed Jess' father's. So Kath sets up Jess to a chance encounter with Alex, and then eggs her on to give him a piece of her mind. After her passionate verbal attack on Alex, and a drink in his startled face, Jess finds herself declaring that she's a member of Women Against Womanizers just doing her bit. This sparks Alex's interest and he enlists Jess' help in showing him how to change his womanizing ways with the hopes of snaring the woman of his dreams, the rich and beautiful, Natasha. Kath pushes Jess to take him on and hopefully learn what clients his firm is presently wooing, so they can snatch them right from under his nose. Jess has attacks of conscience and she tries to convince herself that she can be just as ruthless in business as Alex had been years before with her father. Only Jess hadn't counted on the overwhelming chemistry between them. What a hoot watching Jess teach Alex the dos and don'ts of pursuing a woman. Alex makes a delightful student and soon the heat between them is soaring. This is one of those light and enjoyable reads that will make you laugh out loud. |
