For every vehicle I purchase, I purchase also a Haynes or Chilton book. They have lots of pictures, good description and helps you to work as a home mechanic. But could be better. The information related to fuel injection is not so complete as I wished. Anyway, I strongly recommend the book.

I was hoping Haynes had improved over the years but they still leave you wondering what to do. An example is changing the oil on a 2003 Heritage Softail, They don't even let you know where the drain plug is!! Shovelheads are drained through the oil pan,Twincams have a drain plug in the frame. Ya think it might be a good idea to let someone know??? Good thing I know alittle about Twin Cams.
At least the book does give you all the specs which is what I needed.

This manual is worth it just for the color wiring diagrams covering all the years from '99 to '08. It's also great for a quick reference for fluid capacities, torque specs and anything else not requiring exact model specific instructions. I have used it for more complicated repairs, but it is limited quite a bit in the instructions for a lot of the more involved repairs that go beyond normal maintenance.

It's still a very nice addition to your motorcycle library. I've use it to help a friend over the phone to diagnose some problems with his bike, something that my other higher priced, model specific, repair manual couldn't have done.

Basic how to book. I was looking for more detail, mainly how to disassemble front fairing and lower frontend. Will have to keep looking for what I want.
