It looks like this story is supposed to tell
us murder never takes Holiday, just the other way around. It gets even busier during the Holidays as things go into manic frenzy. There are 3 stories in this one book and it shows just how much work these poor people have to do, even during what we are told is the Happy part of the year. It is a good fast read. Enjoy....

This review is from: Harm for the Holidays: Misgivings (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) (Mass Market Paperback)
It's been over a decade since I last picked up a media franchise novel. And I was rather surprised to find myself enjoying this one.
It began rather well with a convention of Santa's rampaging through downtown Miami and resulting in the discovery of one Santa naked in a pile of ice. A second body is discovered floating in the everglades minus hands and head. The third crime involves an attack in a convenience store. Three fourths of the book was entertaining if lacking in character development-- the dialogue was pretty true to what I remember of the show, however the endings of the stories seemed stretched out in one case (the body in the Everglades) and rushed in the case of the convenience store attack, while I don't think the author played fair in the Santa murder. Also both the body in the everglades and the the convenience story strands had a couple of major plot holes. If you like CSI shows this could be an easy time-passer of a book. But don't think too much about it after it's over.

Mr. Cortez has kept the characters, plot, and plot development true to the TV series. If the book were an episode, I would consider it at or slightly above the average episode.
