The HKTS 8 is a complete 6.1-channel system--front and rear left, center, and right speakers plus a ".1" powered subwoofer to handle your system's low-frequency effects (LFE) channel--that combines a refined, elegant appearance with outstanding performance and value.

The HKTS 8 includes five 2-way, magnetically shielded satellite speakers, a 2-way, shielded center-channel speaker, and a 100-watt subwoofer. All are matched for a seamless sonic blend and styled to complement today's flat-screen video displays and contemporary TV sets. The HKTS 8 also includes wall-mounting brackets for the satellite speakers, and all necessary hookup cables.

While compact in form, the HKTS 8 delivers clear, powerful multichannel sound for your DVD movies and DVD-Audio and SACD music discs. The system's satellites employ a high-quality, high-output 3-inch woofer and .5-inch-dome tweeter, which operate in conjunction with Harman's elliptical waveguide, which is specially shaped for controlled directivity and accurate dispersion over a wider listening area.

The front center-channel speaker's dual 3-inch woofers and .75-inch dome tweeter ensure articulate dialog reproduction along with clear and "present" music and effects. It's precisely voice-matched with the satellites to give you an integrated and expansive 6.1-channel surround sound listening environment.

Besides its built-in amplifier, the subwoofer features a 10-inch woofer for exceptional low-frequency articulation and resolution. The subwoofer includes a full complement of controls, inputs, and outputs to provide optimum sound quality in any system and room.

You can wall-mount the satellites or place them near or even atop a TV or on a shelf; they can also be used with Harman Kardon's optional matching floor stands. The front center-channel speaker is designed for easy placement on top of a TV with no risk of image distortion from the speaker's magnetic voice coils.

The gracefully contoured satellites and center channel and stylish, vertically oriented subwoofer are finished in metallic silver with silver-gray metal grilles to perfectly match Harman Kardon's receivers and audio/video components.

I bought this system because I have a H/K 235 receiver which I love and I am on a budget. Overall, this system is very crisp compared to most satellite systems I've heard. The subwoofer is also excellent, producing booming sound for most users. If you're set on a satellite system, this is very good system worth your consideration - likely much better than most of the mass-market brands (Sony, Panasonic, etc).

What could be better than quality sound from a major audio brand name. These speakers offer plenty of sound, clean sound, and can take lots of power from a high power reciever. These speakers can take between 10-80 watts based on the HK fact sheet, and the sub is 100 watts, powered, 10 inches, which plugs into it's own electrical outlet. The speakers are sleak, not too large in terms of the satelites, but the sub is larger than it looks in the photo. This is not going to fit NEXT to your TV as the smaller HTIB system subs might, it needs it's own corner of the room.

High quality, and when connected to an HK AVR reciever, it works like a charm. I have it connected to the AVR 240, and once again amazon provided great prices on both.

I have never bought Home Theater Speaker's before so my opinion might not matter much. These speakers sound very crisp and clear. The subwoofer that comes with this system has a lot of bass and rattles the whole house. The wall mounts are perfect but I upgraded my speaker wire to 12 gauge and I had difficulty getting the wire through the wall mounts. Other than that the speakers are excellent. If your live with someone, be prepared for them to complain that the speakers are to loud
