The HKS-9 is a pair of two-way satellite speakers for use in your home theater system. The HKS-9 speakers are identical to the satellites in the Harman Kardon HKTS-18 5.1-Channel Home Theater Speaker System, and are designed to be used with the HKTS-18 in a complete 7.1-channel home theater. However, they are also suitable for upgrading almost any 5.1-channel home theater system to 7.1 channels when used with a 7.1-channel receiver or processor and any necessary additional amplifiers. The HKS-9 adds a surround back channel for the ultimate in cinema-like sound.

The HKS-9 features a two-way design that uses a 3/4-inch metal dome tweeter. Easy Set Up

Installing the HKS-9 is simple. The system includes a set of colored stickers that may be placed near the speaker terminals of each of the satellite speakers. In addition, the included speaker wires have colored bands at each end to assist you in connecting them correctly.

The HKS-9 may be placed on a shelf, wall-mounted using the included brackets or positioned on optional floor stands that blend into the speakers for a sleek, seamless look. The owner’s manual provides plenty of information on speaker configuration and integration of the HKS-9 into your current home theater system.

I purchased these speakers to round out my surround system and get full 7.1 sound. They are the perfect addition to my existing Pioneer Elite SG-05 receiver and Infinity speakers. Their versatile mounting system enabled me to locate them exactly where I wanted them and they sound great with my existing set-up. Usually my wife is somewhat ambivalent to the changes I make to our home theater system but she noticed the difference immediately. If you're looking for small, affordable and great sounding speakers to complete your surround system, I would highly recommend the HKS-9's.

I wish I had looked into the mounting options for this speaker before I bought it. The mount that comes with it allows you to rotate the speakers left and right, but there is no ability to tilt them down or up. There is only one place to screw into the speaker and it's a single screw on the bottom....make sure you look around to see if you can find a mount that can actually screw into it. All in all I'm frustrated with the setup. I bet they would look sweet if I just had them sitting on a shelf, but I don't.

The sound quality appears to be fine, but I need to make some adjustments because they are being overpowered by the rest of the system at this point. If the power adjustments don't work, then maybe they are too weak to keep up.

Bought these for a home theatre install i was doing for a guy. He wanted a wall mount style speaker, that wasn't to big and sounded good. I don't think we could have found a better speaker. I was very impress with the sound quality of them for their size. The room is 14x20 and they fill the whole room. We tested the setup and tuned it with Blackhawk Down and it sounded like we were right in the middle of the movie.


You wont be disappointed.
