Seriously, if you get this cd and you don't preview it before you take it for a drive in your car, there is a likely chance that you will get into an accident from laughing so hard. I had to physically turn off my cd player in my car because I was laughing so hard in the first 8 minutes of the performance. NOT SAFE! Hahaha. But it's completely worth 10x the pruchase price, its one of the funniest cds I've ever heard. I'd kept hearing how funny Dane Cook is but I hate buying into hype right away so I wasn't in a rush to buy it. I'm sorry I waited. If you have ANY interest at all in the art form of COMEDY, buy this CD immedietly, but be forewarned about listening to it for the first time while driving... it's a hazard!

I first saw Dane Cook on Comedy Central like most people, and he won me over from the start. I immediately searched amazon to see if he had a comedy cd out. Once i saw "Harmful If Swallowed" was out i instantly bought it without hesitation.
The cd itself is absolutely hilarious!!! My favorite tracks are his rants on how uncool Kool-Aid is and the quiet pickles lady at the "BK Lounge" drive-thru. It's the best to listen to any time, anywhere. Especially when sitting in traffic, it'll put a big smile on your face. If anyone tries to cut you off you won't be cursing, you'll be laughing when u catch yourself saying "ummm... helllllooooo???!, ummm hiii???!!" as Dane points out on the cd.
I've demanded my friends to watch the dvd and every single one has cried from laughter. It's got an unedited version of his comedy central special, with ALOT of deleted jokes - which i was surprised were cut from the show b/c they are way too funny!! I, myself, can't sit through it without my stomach hurting by the end. Do yourself a favor and buy this cd/dvd combo. It's a great deal and the comedy never gets tired or old after a few plays! GO BUY IT!

Dane Cook is the funniest man alive. That sentence pretty much sums up my feelings on this cd. Old fans and new fans alike will not be disappointed by this re-release. Dane's jokes never cease to make me crack up and the bonus joke had me laughing so hard I almost crashed my car the first time I heard it. The dvd does not disappoint either. The un-edited, hour long version of the Comedy Central performance was hilarious. It was worth the wait to see the whole thing but they should have given a genius like Dane a full hour special to begin with. The cd/dvd combo is modestly priced so everyone should rush out and buy it immediately!!!

After reading quite a few of the negative reviews on here, I noticed that quite a few of them made comments that insulted the intelligence of the people that enjoy Dane's material. I find this to be very insulting. I may not be the smartest person on the planet, but I can guarantee you that my IQ does not fall into the "middle to low range" as one reviewer has suggested.

While Dane's comedy may not suit everyone, he sure does seem to entertain quite a few people. Is he the wittiest or most clever comedian out there? No, but he delivers some very entertaining routines. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because some(not all) of his stuff on the CD part requires you to actually see him to get the full effect, but again that's not really his fault since it is only a CD. Plus, I do think he overdoes it a little on some of the stand-up on the DVD.

Overall though, he is a really great comedian. The first time I heard this CD, I was on a roadtrip with some friends(I was the driver). Not the smartest thing to do. I was laughing extremely hard at times that it was hard to focus on actually driving. The first time I actually saw his standup was on the Comedy Central presents... The part that really did it in for me was the "why did you stop and let me hit you at a legal red light!" routine(not exactly verbatim but you get the idea). Once I heard the "that tire hunted Mary down!" track, I was hooked.

While the 1st few minutes of the CD start off kind of weak, Dane quickly picks up the pace and doesn't slow down til the end. I would highly recommend this CD/DVD for fans that like silly, non-serious comedy. If you try to overanalyze things too much, then maybe you should borrow somebody else's copy before buying it.

I am highly anticipating his new DOUBLE CD/ DVD coming out on July 26th. I have my standards very high and I believe that Dane will definitely let me write another good review.

Oh and I just remembered one more of the other negative reviewer's comment of how they can't successfully repeat a joke to a friend and get a laugh. My response: If you could deliver a joke as well as the actual comedian, then what is the point in the comedian actually being there. Very few comedians these days actually just stand there and tell a joke in a monotone voice. Most comedians do change their voices around and require you to actually see them before you can fully appreciate the joke.

Get over yourselves and thinking you are more intelligent than everyone that likes him just because you don't. Everybody is entitled to their own opinions and there is no need to insult them because they may not agree with you.

HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED is Dane Cook's debut CD, but you may have already seen him perform on Comedy Central. This CD also comes with a DVD that includes the edited and unedited versions of his Comedy Central special, and his appearance on PREMIUM BLEND. Dane Cook is one of the funniest comedians I have ever heard. He tackles issues in modern America and the things that almost everybody goes through. He gets what most other comedians miss... he gets those akward moments that occur in everyday life and all of those stupid things that people do. He handles our obsession with car accidents, being late, nightmares, tickling, childhood dreams, harsh realizations, and other aspects of life. Some people may not think he is funny, but I think he is hilarious. He reminds me of those interesting conversations that you have with people, and I try to say that as non-homosexual as possible. You see all of those moments in your life that make you self-conscious, embarassed, or plain annoyed, and just laugh at them. You listen to all of his stories and the way he puts those unspeakable feelings into words. I think he is one of those great comedians that sticks out and has the ability to become one of the most famous people in Hollywood. I don't know when it is going to happen, but I can feel it coming. This CD has 24 tracks, and is one of the smartest purchases you can make.

my friends and i heard bootlegs of dane cook here and there, but i never could get enough! so i bought this CD, and it left me laughing my a** off. well worth the money, i reccommend this CD to anyone with a good (although at times profane) sense of humor.

Dane Cook is crazy and amazingly funny. I have never had the chance to see him live as he doesn't come to Canada all that often but I know if I did I would probably wet my pants laughing. He takes everyday things, that nobody really thinks about too much, and he makes them hilarious. Like working at Burger King, everybody has had a crappy job like that, and about the kind of concrete they make parking structures out of. You have to listen to this kid he is completely crazy and you are guarenteed to laugh your [...]off !!

I have always loved standup comedy, even before I was old enough to understand half of it. The idea of someone simply getting on a stage for an hour and talking away, all the while getting big laughs intrigued me. It was being a rockstar without the aggravation of dealing with 3 to 4 other people. In the 1990s, it seemed like standup comedy had hit a real dryspell (maybe just my opinion) but aside from the older, more famous comics moving on to "bigger and better things", the fine art of standup comedy was taking a major backseat. Thankfully, those comics that were getting their feet wet then are making a huge splash now and Dane Cook is one of these guys.

Seriously, you couldn't ask for a better package than this one. Usually when a band includes a DVD in their new release, you get a measely 15-20 video segment or a few live tracks but Comedy Central has upped the ante considerably here by including Dane's Comedy Central Special as aired, that same special at hour length and uncensored and his segments on Premium Blend and Comics Come Home, totalling out at nearly 2 hours. The best part is that the DVD is an accompanying extra to his full length, uncensored CD that is the main attraction.

Dane Cook's humor encompasses a little of everything. He's not trying to gross you out with raunchy sex jokes. He's not offering up any biting political commentary. He's not offering up witty quips on the differences between men and women. He's not the white guy who poorly attempts race humor. Dane Cook serves on single purpose: to make you laugh any way humanly possible and not only is his approach fresh but it works wonders for him and the listener. His energy is unmatched in the comedy game today and his childish sense of humor attacks the immaturity in me.

I'm ecstatic to see standup comedy on such a massive uprise these days. Next to music, it's one of my favorite forms of entertainment. As long as these comics don't get fully sucked into celebrity side of the business and stick with what makes them so unique, there is hope for true, uncensored comedy after all.

I've been a Dane Cook fan for quite some time now, but it was only a short time ago I found out about his CD/DVD combination, needless to say I picked it up in no time. The audio part of this comedic package is indeed laugh out loud funny if you "get" Dane Cook. However, if you enjoy more reserved and less whacky comedy (which isn't a bad thing) I suggest picking up the Kevin James DVD "Sweat The Small Stuff". The DVD comes with Dane's "Comedy Central Presents" standup, the 30 minute edited version and the hour long unedited version, plus two performances from "Premium Blend" and "Comics Come Home". If you're a fan of Dane Cook this is a godsent, and if you love standup comedy be sure to give this a try.

So, I think i'm going to get fired, because I have done no work all morning and i'm laughing out loud in my cubicle. I laughed so hard the tears washed out my contact. All this cause I'm watching my Dane Cook cd/dvd at work. I first heard of him on xm comedy (a must have), but those short bits don't do him justice. I highly recommend you watch the uncut hour long bit on the dvd. Just make sure you have an extra set of contacts. =P
